Best Way To Get Into The Comp Scene?

So this season I'm planning on getting more involved with competitions and stuff, but was wondering what the best way to find different comps and stuff was? Right now I'm planning on signing up for USASA, but was wondering if just finding local, resort sponsored events would be a better idea? And if so how do I find out about these types of events at resorts I never ride at? Any help would be sick!

USASA is a great place to start, also just enter in local comps to get your name out there

Its a shame. The gatorade free flow tour used to be a sick comp and the winners (for the top division) would get a spot in the dew tour qualifier. anyways usasa is good. Any national wide competitions will help

My home mt doesn't have a time so i just go to locale resort comps and rail jams but usasa is pro the best check resorts around you for comps thats what i do

USASA is a joke. Go compete in real comps and do well. Going by some stupid point system is killing this sport.

real mountains? with real skiing? So, you mean something like the FWT? you know, that tour that uses a points system to decide an overall champ, with a qualifying tour that uses a point system to decide who gets to join the pro tour?

yeah, fuck using a point system to decide who is best overall..

Honestly dude you didn't contribute to the thread at all haha, I don't live out west, and I'm not pro-level. So if you meant get in some big ass comps, at some big mountains out west, that wasn't what I was lookin' for.

USASA is a great place to start! And if you want more im not sure how serious you are about competing, look into USSA such as Rev tour. This year the stops are Seven Springs PA, Copper MT CO, and Mammoth CA. Also Northface Park and Pipe Open. I live in Tahoe CA so theres quite the selection out here.

i want to do some comps to but I'm in cali so its all snowboarding or for skiing its the war of rails at bear mountain. but war of rails is for pros so... I'm gonna make an edit

Poach the course. That's basically how all the current pros got recognized.
