Living in Park City

Don't move to pc for alta o snowbird, those two are an hour and a half away. You'd have better luck living in salt lake.

It would be way more affordable and if you plan on skiing in more than just park city, it makes sense. Find a place in sugarhouse or somewhere near there.

I would also vote do not live in Park City, unless you really want to ski park. Living in sugarhouse is pretty convenient..but if I were you I would try to live in Cottonwood Heights area. Then you can save a lot of time and gas money. Check out KSL if you haven't already!

This. Snowbird and Alta are far better than the PC resorts and it will be cheaper to live there.

i dont know what this is downvoted, its pretty true. there are cheap places to live, but you're gonna get what you pay for. even surrounding areas of PC (jeremy ranch, kimball jct, summit park,) are pretty pricey to live in.

SLC, primarily the benches near foothill, cottonwood heights, olympus cove, etc. is gonna be youre best bet if you wanna ski both the cottonwoods and PC-area resorts, i think. its no less than a half hour drive from the valley up to PC, and its much quicker to get over to the cottonwoods.


oh and broto i hate to be a douche and correct you, but the drive from PC over to snowbird/alta isnt too bad at all. im about 10 minutes outside of PC in midway, it was somewhere in between 45-55 minutes to get over there on a clear day. gonna be longer to get over there on snowy ones, but thats what the asscrack of dawn is for :)

What do you guys consider a realistic budget for monthly rent in PC? I've been trying to find a studio or 1br for Dec-May but there isn't a whole lot to pick from. I have an epic pass so the other side of the mountains isn't really a good option.

As an condo owner, and renter in town I can tell you the average prices last month. I just upped rent and went over average prices so this is up to date an accurate.
$1040 for Studio/1bd/ba
$750 a room for 2bd/2ba
$810 a room for 3bd/2ba

These were for condos/townhomes only. No homes. So this is not a price of a room in a house. These are for rooms in condos or town homes. I average about the first 10 I found on KSL, Craislist, and Park Record. It did seem that rooms in homes were a bit cheaper.

Does it really take several seasons to understand the LCC/BCC ski areas are better than the PC resorts? You don't even have to go to them. All you have to do is look at the terrain and average snowfall. If you throw in park and other non-skiing things, it's a different story.

Each day is differnt each resort has its own unique vibe, terrain, pros n cons
18" at deer valley beats the shit out of 3' in an interlodged lcc sittin in your car at the mouth or riding chickadee or limited terrain w/ a bunch of agro dipshits who think they know everything
Snowbird sucks at opening bc gates. B right on and the can allow you to decide
if leaving the resort is an option to you.
altas great if you ski and the terrain when it's open killer.
they don't give a fuck about a park though.
sillytudes chill and the fantsy ridge terrain is probably sum of na gnarliest hike to complete w/ cables in the no fall zones
snow basin has deluxe shitters but more bamboo and gated terrain that doesn't always open than anywhere else
pow mows chill and the powder country gates access good terrain down to the
road.
in 18 seasons i probably have more days at snowbird than clueless beyond a shadow of a doubt noobs
but i'm sure he know more or at least sure trys harder to pretend.
