Skiing doesn't need to be the dog waiting for the scraps on the side of the table. We're more than capable of having a proper seat with everyone else. There is a difference between stealing designs and taking inspiration from others. If J put his logo where the atomic logo is that would be stealing a design.
The fact that he has trees on his skis does not mean he stole that idea or design from anyone. Especially since his trees are an original art piece by Adam Haynes who is insanely creative and talented (and who should do way more ski graphics)
Also, skiing stole just about everything it has from snowboarding, surfing and skating as someone already mentioned.

no, this silly worship of skating is outdated. skiing, snowboarding, and skating all have companies and decks with great graphics, mediocre ones, and shitty/unoriginal ones. skiing might have a bit more lame shit cause a lot of skiing isnt the "cool" young scene we like but when skiers talk about skating like theyre 12 year olds talking about their cool older brother it's sort of sad

Bum.LifeAll art gets recycled. Its not that he's stealing designs, but probably using them as inspiration. This has been happening in the art world forever.
Inspiration and using the same design are a little different. Inspiration should have "inspired" him to make his own design, not delicately steal bits and pieces.
I got to admit the Margaritaville ski was a major brain fart by me, I just totally forgot about the Benchetler blanket base from a few years ago in the excitement of using a consumer submitted "idea" posted to our ski graphic idea page
Adam Haynes Pillows ski painting is as original as it gets, he actually painted it before I ever met him and it looked perfect for a ski so we used it and he just tweaked parts to fit on a ski shape, get yo eyes checked if you think that's the same as pollard's & definitely neither are the first or last pow skis with trees or mtns on them. Cats In Space ski just because there's an astronaut? common . . .

As much as this thread is a joke, it's still kind of harsh on JLev. The dude is about as honest and forthright as any ski businessperson out there. Oh well, I guess all press is good press.
I vote J makes a ski in celebration of this, and Krotch's other thread. It can be like jon's pro model with his wife on it, but one ski gets a girl and one a man so you don't ruffle any feathers about objectifying women. and then men get to complain they put a guy on skis, everyone wins.

Agreed with Statement, but honestly who cares where stuff is pulled from. Nothing and everything is original...does it really matter? Everyone is "biting" someone nowadays.
I really dont think skiing is the least original. And surfing is def before skateboarding for influence. I think influenced is a more proper term than original.
