Colorado Residency

I'm a senior in high school and I'm still not sure where I'm going to college. I've been considering somewhere out west and Colorado. My main problem is gaining residency to qualify for in state tuition. I understand that I must work and be able to support myself and other things.

My main questions are
what exactly is the easiest way to gain residency?

Is it possible to find a job and support myself for a whole year?

I do not qualify for domicile as I will be 18 and have no relatives there

Your American. You can live and work in any state you want. Think about what you are asking. Hell, take a year off of school and mive to a ski town in Colorado.

Yep what he said. If you want to qualify for in state tuition, you need to be living and working here for at least a year. Take a year off of school and move out west. After that if you decide to go to college, you will be good to go!

Skip college, grow dreadlocks, and question your decision to do so ten years down the line. Trust me, it's much more fulfilling.

Colorado native here.

To qualify for instate in Colorado, you need to do 3 to 4 things.

1. Live in a Colorado residence for at least one year, and have proof that you have lived there for said amount of time.

2. Have a vehicle registered in the state of Colorado

3. Have a Colorado State ID or Driver's License

4. Have proof of income coming from the state of Colorado

after you complete these things, you will be CONSIDERED, not GUARANTEED In-State. I have friends that have done all of this and lived here for over a year and a half and didn't get anything.

I don't think #2 is required but yeah the rest of those are spot on. I would check with the college you want to attend to be absolutely sure you cover all your bases though. If there's a way they can screw you into paying out of state tuition they will find it.
