Trees runs or wide open?

There is jut something about skiing in the woods shooting around trees, taking a couple "surprise" cliff drops I really enjoy. It's like an all natural, mountain made playground. I also enjoy those wiiiide open areas where you can just rip it up, shoot some wind lips and just cruise. I prefer being in the woods over it all though.

Do you have a preference NSrs?

i like wide open areas more because i like to have a surf feeling when i'm skiing pow and get wiiiiiiide turns and just relax. but that doesn't mean i don't like gunning down tree lines, it is fun too, i just prefer the wide opens.

Definitely Trees. No doubt, I can always find some left over pow deep in the woods and it's super secluded

Are we talking EC or WC trees? Because I would take out West trees any day. But personally, I think trees into chutes and bowls are the most fun

West Coast for sure. Trees out East tend to be a little to clumped together for skiing.

I ski at a small mountain with a small park and what I find my self doing most of the time is making random woods trails. Eventually I know the trail well enough so me a my friends can just fly through it. This is super fun

I like the woods better because it doesn't get tracked out as easy your just kind of moving the snow to your next line. A lot of people ski the open areas so it gets tracked out faster.

Interesting thread idea

I'd have to say woods. I just like rippin through the woods, little cliff drops and some pow here and there. I always do some woods runs when I go skiing

Although, I have only skied the east coast, so my opinion is probably invalid

I like to find runs with widely spaced trees, big cliffs and super steep lines.

So trees I guess?

Although I do enjoy ripping down open pitches often too.

Being a New Zealander where there is no trees to ski, I'd have to pick tree's as I've only skied them like one season in the US.

Trees with open areas. Harwood sections are my favorite. Found some cool rocky sections in ns to grt kver the lack of trees

being on the east, my favorite is to go fast down a small section of dense trees to an open area thats still in the woods with a lot of pow...bolton valley is the best place ive been to for that and it was so much fun

My hill is almost all sub-alpine, so I ski mostly trees. When I go to a resort like banff, though, I'll spend the entire day above the treeline.

Def fun. Used to have safeting meetings and then blast tupac and shred through em. My left shoulder still pops weird from clipping a tree in like 07. Gotta be on yo game

I'm all about huge open bowls, especially when theres a chute to get into them. Something about making huge unobstructed turns really gets me going.

Not if you know what you're doing.

Trees for me for sure. Nothing better than jumping in the woods on a busy day and suddenly feeling all alone. Plus, at least in New England, unmarked trees are the only place to find good snow when the rest of the mountain is shitty.

Trees if it's socked in for visibility, except I violate that rule at Big Sky a lot to take advantage of short tram lines. Otherwise I usually like to shred the wide open stuff or chutes on a pow day then retreat to the trees as it tracks out.

I only said that because where I would go to ski when I lived out East (Snowshoe, West Virginia) ALL the trees were clumped together and it was damn near impossible to do tree laps.

tree dodging is a blast, not to mention smoke huts. Smoke huts make a day in the forest way better.

I like skiing tight trees to open areas. My friends and I made a small kicker over a cliff to a wide open area, so sick.

My Pow days usually consist of shredding trees in the early morning and then when the steep wide open areas have been opened by patrol I go and get some of that. So, my answer is both!

Something in between. You need to trees to make it interesting. And as much as I love skiing New England trees, they are so damn tight it gets annoying some times, I just don't realize it until I see some sick runs from out west in a vid.

I love trees! It's definitely my go to on most days in search of powder out on the east coast, butI i have to say it wouldn't be the same without ripping the groomers too much fun…I'm getting antsy haha
