Can someone explain this S3 review for me?

"I mounted mine at center, which is 7cm forward of recommended. They are centered on the sidecut at recommended, so where I had them mounted there was alot of tail on snow and almost no tip. I would only recommend this to park skiers and strong skiers, as it is really different. On groomers the tips would fold when flying down due to the softness of the rocker and lack of ski contact with the snow. Again, this is only a problem if you mount at center."



I'm looking to mount some S3's at center and was curious as to what this person means by "alot of tail on snow and almost no tip" and "the tips would fold when flying down..."

Also I know some skis have a symmetrical flex because they know a lot of people will mount at center...does the skis have a symmetrical flex/will mounting at center still get the most out of this ski?

If it's recommended to be mounted -7cm back from center, why would you center mount it?

This. They will ski best back from center.

What the man was talking about with the tip, is that due to the softness and the rocker, when you put your weight onto the tip and drive the ski it will be overpowered and "fold" aka bend and you will lose all support. This will not end well, and you don't want your skis doing this.

These skis will not ski good centered. IMO never center a non symmetrical ski.

There are non symmetrical skis out there that are designed to be mounted center, but agree otherwise.
