dont really know, that was what he asked us, but maybe along the lines of, training facilities, camps, events, new events that could be invented thats not just the typical half pipe and slope, maybe thats a little better?
We need more edits that are thrashing. All the shots today are about flow, and the cinematography and soundtrack choices follow that trend. I think we need to take it back to the days of thrashing punk songs.
Skiing is missing more free-skier run company's. Like look at skateboarding, alot of the biggest brands were created and are now run by former pro's or hell current pro's ex: Blackbox, Girl/Chocolate/fourstar, Toy machine, Alien Workshop (R.I.P), Krooked, Sk8Mafia, to name just a few of the biggest ones. Obviously there are some companies, and obviously its harder to start a ski company, but im just saying.
kickcactusI feel like the US doesn't have many indoor skiing areas. That'd be awesome if they had more.
There are 0 indoor ski facilities in the us. If you are talking about turf/snowflex there are some but there are 0 indoor snowdomes as you would find across Europe or in Dubai
We need more college involvement. What I mean is if I have Straight a's like someone else, and they play a school endorsed sport. Let's say football. And the football team doesn't win a game. I'm out on the ski hill busting my behing to stomp a misty 7 let's say. Well the college will pick them over me because they are "more involved" even if they have no skill. Hopefully that made sense
Definitely in need of more places like snowflex that offers us the chance to hit rails and jumps all year. In Tahoe with the addition of woodward it was cool, but at the same time a pain in the ass for students at UNR (where all the money is).
I also liked the idea of more college involvement. It seems like more of us are becoming aware that our college ski programs suck and gain no recognition for being in the areas that they are. UNRWSC gets little funding or recognition from ASUN and many aspects of the club are based on racing.
all this response are awesome, i appreciate it a lot!
the idea of indoor skiing on snow with jumps and rails year around sounds like a awesome thing the us is missing, imagine every state having year around skiing how popular the sport would become, and maybe get more recognition by school and what not!

Maybe when freestyle skiing matures as a sport we will see more pros getting involved with the business side of things. At the moment we dont have many freestyle (park and pipe) skiers who are retired and looking to progress the sport but with time hopefully we will be able to follow similarly the path skateboarding has taken in a decade or two time :)
What I think could inprove is getting more people into the sport. It is still seen as quite an eleetist sport and yes it is expensive to get into. Not so much the equipment as there are means to easily rent but it's more th resort costs. It can cost a family a great deal to stay in a resort, pay for passes and good ect. But to change thi it will require resorts to work at making more cheap option available. But do the resorts want to do this? Seemingly not. If people will paythe current rates why make them cheaper. They may increase numbers but not necessarily increase revenue. So maybe they look at more corporate sponsorship to off set the costs. But then people ere complain about big brands gettin into skiing. So it's hard but getting more people involved in te sport is where I really think growth can happen I will just take people working together.
DingoSeanI really don't understand this sentiment.
Everyone and their mom knows on-hill concessions are way too pricy.
Make better food at home, bring your own beer, eat in your car for lunch, or pack it in your jacket pocket. Seriously this complaint is dumbtastic.
But what if it is a family of say 6 there for a week. They will not want to eat a packed lunch every day. Having more affordable resort options is a big factor i think.

If I have a family of 6, there's no fucking way I'm paying 60$ for all of them to eat one friggin meal. I'd just bake a couple Dijorno pizzas the night before and the kids better be okay with eating cold pizza on the hill. I might front down for hot choco, but that's not that expensive anyway.

Skiing is missing diversity the most. Skiing is a male dominated sport for pretty much any white dude. More women and more culturally diverse people need to be introduced into the sport.
Also skiing needs more creative people. If I watch any edits that aren't from will Wesson or b dog or any pro or well recognized skier it probably isn't that creative. Too much lip blind 270s, 270 on pretz to sw and cork 9 blunt. Theyre are sick. But get really tired after a while. I spent at least an hour each day on NS and watched an illegal amount of ski videos this summer. I realized that some people lack creativity. Just my thoughts and I wish there were more people like traveling circus and inspired. But then again they are pros because they are different.
C.A.V.dont really know, that was what he asked us, but maybe along the lines of, training facilities, camps,
agreed, traing facilities with dry slope, water ramps, air bags are few and far between. I would love to have some close to me. There are more than there used to be, but we need more of a demand for them.
