In an interview he talked about a shot he had to take. A mother had explosives strapped to her with a detonator in one hand, and her child in the other. He shot the woman, and saved her innocent kid's life.
Seems like a hero to me, at least from that situation.

Every time someone posts "U.S. blah blah blah killed blah blah blah civilians I have to resist the urge to chuckle. The amount of civilians killed by the U.S. during its entire midlle eastern occupation is probably less than 1% of those that died in WWII alone. War has casualties and the fact is that the amount of these casualties has become less and less as we move forward in history.
As for Las., its pretty obvious where he stands on America. I just find it slightly humourous how self righteous he is about it and his country as if they are somehow better than America. He talks about how "progressive" his cpountry is yet it, like America, impoverished the natives handed over countrol of the government to minaly white european settlers. Maybe he means progressive because the passed womans suffrage and old age pensions before the U.S. Wow, ground breaking stuff there.

We also aren't finding a country, we are fighting terrorist organizations. We aren't at war with Iraq or any of those countries, we are at war with the terrorist groups that are headquartered there. The terrorist groups that are responsible for thousands of civilian deaths in their own country, ours, and others. We are trying to make sure that they are stopped from committing more terror in the world.

Well, how many times do we hear that they are terrorist because they hate us? And that when they harm us they credit it to our presence over there. OK I get it. They have the natural resources that caused us to go there in the first place. Now they hate the fact we're there. We hate that they are harming us. Never ending cycle. I'm actually somewhat surprised by that. I was in a Ridgefield MS and knew somewhere between 10-15 friends parents or friends older siblings that were in the towers. Fortunately some of them were able to get out (a lot were in the second tower and evacuated before it was hit), but some who weren't as fortunate.

Do you realize that the 150k figure is not only civilians killed by US military but all civilians killed in the war? AKA also killed by terrorist groups in Iraq. Quit blaming your own country for everything. I'm sure all of the civilians that were saved because of our involvement and all of the supplies and food we have sent them are happy we are there too. There are always two sides to everything, but you only choose to look at the damning evidence.

Do you really believe that every person who is fighting on behalf of the terrorist organizations do so because they 'hate the west' or are fundamentally opposed to our belief systems? How many of those fighting are doing so under threat of harm to them or their families? How many do so because they believe they are protecting their country?

I'm self righteous about my country? Jesus christ, don't make me laugh. New Zealand is the most socially progressive country in the world in terms of freedom and personal rights, among other things. That's not my opinion; that is fact. I wasn't and am not trying to turn this into a pathetic country vs country squabble, and I think it's ultra rich for an american to even accuse me of that.

Funny when the US government supports Saudi Arabia, a country that murders people for acts of homosexuality and blasphemy, stones people for adultery, and amputates hands for stealing.
