Style above comfort?

Have you ever chosen to look cool knowing it will affect your comfort? wear those way to tinted goggles on a foggy day, riding pullovers in a blizzard, sagging your pants so much you are struggling on getting your turns right, or even just gone totally crazy and done a no glow day?

common, i know you all ain't perfect.

haha, yess! I let my suspenders hang. have to pull up my pants after each trick. Think thats a easter classic.

I'll tell you this, no one in Alaska gives two shits about what you wear. It's usually the kids that are decked out in sick gear that end up sluffed away over the schrund.

^same at my ski resort. But I have to agree in wearing those way to tinted googles on a foggy day, I always end up with having them on my forehead

I like the way my clothes look at it doesn't affect my skiing at all. They're baggy, but not Virtika, Dollo baggy.

Yeah because he is actually a good skier and can pull off supper baggy look, but when you can't even make a proper carved turn yet you still wear XXXL stuff you look like a douche.

to keep it steze i have my paints supper baggy and when ever i hike a jump or rail i have to take supper small steps but u have to decide if u want to look steze or not so worth it

This. Or if there's a cat track (like the one right under pdawg chair off rothman) that goes under a lift, I wait till a chair with people comes before throwing a trick.

I eye them with my murky goggles on the foggy day though, so of course they never know I was watching them.

The best thing is when there's cute girls on a chair that's just a few meters off the ground right over a gnarly line. (i.e. Gadzoom lift line near Get Serious Chutes)

Not really. I need to be comfortable and functional for work and just like that anyway. I wear loose to baggy stuff but not pants that are dragging on the ground and a coat down to my ankles.

If your "steez" impairs your ability to ski than you're doing something wrong. These days it doesn't even matter anyway. Some of the steeziest looking people are the biggest noobs. Everyone has twins, everyone has outerwear from freesking brands etc. So many people these days decked out in the steeziest gear that can barely ski park if they can ski at all. Really wouldn't worry THAT much about style.

If we really chose functionality then noone would wear baggy, cotton, sunglasses under helmet or full tilts hahaha

I for myself don't wear anything that really does affect performance, e.g. I only sag my pants to the point where I don't feel them, as soon as they start blocking my legs it's time to pull up lol

Wore a hoodie with a flannel under it in an East Coast storm dumping 5in/hour. I couldn't see 10 feet in front of me, but bombed the black diamond anyways. When I went in the lodge to warm up, my black Saga pullover was completely white and crusted in ice and snow.

I developed a few solid tricks to keeping my style points while staying warm.

1) Wear a good base layer, no matter whats on top. Merino wool is the tits.

2) wear suspenders so that you can sag them pants and retain full leg mobility

3) On the cold days, wear on oversize fartsack. They are warm as hell, and you'll be the raddest skier on the mountain rocking that unique style. Mine looks like a couch. See below:

Soo i am new-ish to the park and still can't hit a 360 every time, been skiing for a couple years though- does this mean people will look at me weird if i buy a Virtika jacket ? i didn't know they were extra baggy lol.. my boy has one and he loves it. I'm not really the type to give a fuck but now you got me all paranoid..like buy that jacket dude and u will never make any friends... EVER!!!

I do occasionally but still hate when kids on pow days wear there massive hoodies. Just avoid getting soaked and wears jacket toy won't look like a gaper you'll look like a normal skier

Don't worry about it man. No one will judge you and if they do just don't worry about it. Just be yourself and you will make friends because of that and not because of your virtika jacket.

My pants are so tight I can barely move. They don't fit over my boots. I'm going to rock a pea coat on the hill this year because jibberish made it look cool and hipster in their video. Under my pea coat I will layer with as many over price'd button up shirts I can afford. I've decided to trade my all leather Oakley gloves for something made of wool for a more hipster/jibberish effect, I just need that perfect vintage toque to complete my look.
