How hard is the loop?

Re watching JP's segments made me start wondering again, how hard would it be to build and complete the loop?

For those who haven't seen it, watch JP's awesome segment in Propaganda:

Anyone know how they built it? Would it be at all possible without machinery?

And more importantly, how hard would it be to ride? Are you a bad enough dude to try it?

I think it'd be easiest to make a mound with very sticky snow and carve out the loop shape from it. You would probably have to let the snow harden before carving it out though

This is probably the only way it would be possible, and I don't see why it would be particularly difficult to make if the conditions are right. Of course if you mess up you'll have to start over because you can't really patch the upper part.

Just do it like you would be riding a berm on a bike. Lean, shift center of gravity to center of berm, rotate, whip back.

I think it should be brought up for those that were not old enough to remember this original loop attempt; the construction of the loop was potentially more dangerous than the feature itself. One of the crew had a section of the loop fall on her during construction and break her back.

It's amazing they were able to press forward and get that shit done and captured for all eternity.
