Some people do.

For what purpose? As a grip surface? It's sort of grippy, but for actual skating it's probably not going to work that well. I'm sure you could skate it without sliding off every five seconds, but I'd bet the durability would be an issue. Plus dirt and water would probably ruin it quicker than griptape.

This still makes me cringe. I remember watching this live, and realizing my dream of riding BMX on the mega might not be such a great goal.
