Who can get to the bottom of this?

pussyfooterDefine ripoff?
t_robOverly coincidental concept (lights on skiers/riders at night) made by an agency/production company/director with no clear ties to skiing over a year after a rather successful (200k+ view) video came out.
The chances of the Sony project not being inspired by SFTV, Elias ambuehl's LED project, or similar are pretty much zero in my book. How is it even possible that SFTV didn't influence the Sony ad in some way? I'm willing to give them zero credit for this.
"Ripoff" obviously depends on the clause that they were influenced and didn't use ski movie people in their ad.
So if you're heavily influenced by something, go to the source to get it right. If the credits of this film said Director: Mike Douglas, Jeffy, or take your pick an industry film hotshot, I'd have no issue with it. However, the Director is Peter Thwaites, a guy who constantly makes commercials with million dollar budgets for clients like Playstation.
In the last year we saw Coors contact PBP and make another Detroit thing. The agency that makes ads for Philips contacts Sweetgrass after seeing Valhalla to make an ad for them. And here we have this project. Who made it? Outsider.tv and Peter Thwaites. Who are they? What do they have to do with skiing/snowboarding?
pussyfooterEven if they did, who cares? I fail to see the need for such a thread.
