SteezyJapaneezyas if we need another social network
i agree but let's face it, theyre huge, so as long as we're accepting social media sites as part of our future, it'd be nice to have one without some of facebook's downsides.
i'd love to see a facebook with transparency (no data sharing, no face recognition software, etc) and without like-counting, just comments.
without the "likes," you take away some of the weird popularity contest aspect on there and you can just have cool pictures with comments sometimes. ive been told by multiple people that they delete stuff from their wall if it doesnt get as many likes as they want, and while i think that's insane i have to admit i would probably post more on the book if there wasn't the silly shallow worry that you won't get a lot of likes and look cool
my 2 cents. all that being said, it strikes me that it would be very difficult for someone to usurp facebook. i sorta feel like if google failed at it i don't see why someone else won't too. stupid reductive description but you know what i mean
