Jiberish seems to have recruited longtime Jiberish mainstay Adam Delorme as their first Grand Cru Outerwear Athlete. Coming from Saga, with it’s traditionally bright colours and baggy designs (although recently they’ve got a bit for everyone’s taste) it’s a pretty big deal. This seems like a pretty logical decision though, as Jiberish is Adam’s longest standing sponsor and Adam’s always been one to have a unique and progressive style, all the while having an affinity to more dark, understated colours. From the images that have been surfacing of the Grand Cru Outerwear line, the outerwear seems to be a directional shift in on-mountain style while creating functionality beyond the mountain, and it is no surprise the guys behind Jiberish are the ones pushing it. I think it’ll be interesting to watch and see how they continue to progress and roll out this new platform.

Not gonna lie, at first I was a non believer and I thought it was a bit strange to see/a bit hard to wrap my mind around the concept. The more I thought about it though, the more the idea of one jacket to bring from the mountains to the streets (and then to the bars, and really anywhere) grew on me.
I think it's fucking rad that Jiberish is pushing the boundaries with this. People have always said that trends from snowboarding appear in skiing a few years later (same with skateboarding->snowboarding), and to some extent it was true for a while imo. For them to bring high fashion, with an entirely functional form to skiing (correct me if I'm wrong, but I haven't really seen any other companies do anything like that) and do it big their first year into the line is just so.... classic Jiberish I suppose.
Anyways I digress. I'm stoked that they're doing something progressive and I'm equally stoked that they've got someone like Adam Delorme promoting their stuff, it's an awesome fit in my opinion.

When I saw Jiberish say they were dipping back into outerwear on Instagram, I WAS STOKED. Still am to be honest. I don't really like the idea of a peacoat, but I feel like it's going to grow on me.
It's already started to grow on me. Maybe because it's Jiberish?

I'm still not quite ready to ski in a peacoat actually, but that second jacket looks so damn sweet.

"There have been a couple changes to our team leading into the 14/15 season. Delorme made the decision to move to another brand. It was a tough loss for us as we've always really valued his contributions to skiing and to Saga. Regardless still excited to see all the crazy innovative things he's going to do in the future."

I'm sure he'll continue to use his Saga pants throughout the season, most likely any black pair he's obtained over the years with them
Really stoked for Jiberish to grow up in an awesome way move into streetwear with such ease. Past hoodies have been straight up horrid and im glad they moved past the bright colors and over the top designs. This progression is dope and im glad Delorme is leaving Saga for this more mature aesthetic.
i definetly like where they are taking this outerwear thing. i would love this stuff fro street wear! however, maybe its just my taste in "ski fashion" if thats what we call it, im not big on skiing in peacoat. dont get me wrong, i love the style of it, just not for on the hill. i can respect their movement. just isnt for me. im sure itll have its place among skiers but my first impression is that its not the jacket id buy. the other jacket it looking sweet too.
Anyways, I love the thought of having a jacket which you can wear from the mountain, then to dinner and the club but you have to go home or wherever to take off your ski pants so it sort of makes the fact that the jacket is skiable in sort of null and void. Unless you want to look like a total hipster bad ass on a pow day.

It is an awesome thought, but wearing it that much leaves a lot of room for it to get wrecked not saying you are a reckless one ChubbyBoiiii

While the prices are high, if you got this same exact coat from any designer (Margiela, Alexander Wang, ect) it would be anywhere from 2x to 10x the price.
I dont really understand why everyone is freaking out. looking at the past year or two of jiberish prices, it is obvious that they have increased the price. i dont understand how anyone can be suprised by these prices. saw this coming a mile away

Who the hell do they think is going to buy that? They have always been exclusive but that's ridiculous. Everyone they sponsor won't have to pay for it, and people who don't ski won't buy a ski jacket for $700. They have some expensive fairly priced stuff but DAMN.

i actually do think there are people out there that will buy this. there may be some in the ski community, there may be some that are into the high end jacket for urbanm wear. my point is that the price is insanley high for the average consumer, skier or not. but that doesnt mean there isnt a market for it. it comes down to personal spending choices. i sure as hell wont buy any of it lol

I would have bought it if it was under the 500 range, but to be honest, 700 is just a little too much for my taste. I could afford it, but there is just so much more you can do with your hard earned cash than waste it on an uber expensive ski jacket.

Newschoolers has this whole idea that only skiers buy jiberish. Sure it may be of started as a skiing clothing company but over time they've broadened to a new market. A lot of other people buy jiberish. Hipsters are starting to love jiberish. Hence why they're sponsoring music artists now.
