I used to lifeguard but now I do pools and maintenance so I'm usually in the back checking the filters, pumps, chems and all the other shit that needs to be fixed
haha wtf, this thread is annoying. Every post so far looks like an amazing place to work (except maybe Best Buy, but thats probably not even that bad at all).
A lot of the time I'm also stuck in the middle of nowhere at some shitty grass or dirt runway, or maybe even a dock. I vastly prefer working on clean concrete floors though.
Visual effects artist. I sit at a computer in an office with a bunch of other artists all day working on movies and tv shows, putting cool shit together using nuke. Fucking love my job
Here's my new lab, it's just been refurbished. Everything works (unusual) and is clean (even more unusual). Also everything is top of the range kit, like we can set our hotplates to precise temperatures instead of arbitrary 1-10 scales. The only downgrade is we don't have an ice machine any more, but the undergrad teaching lab next door has one so we don't really need it...
And the machine I've spent at least 3 hours using today, this is a rotary evaporator. You use it to extract solvent.
Not shown is the limitless supply of syringes and needles we have access to (and dry-ice)
