DFD switchup?

So i see a ton of videos where when skiers are hitting a DFD, right before the last down, they'll swap. Is it easier to hit a DFD like this rather than just keeping your composure all the way through? it almost seems like it would be easier in a weird way.

are you asking if it's easier to do a swap on a dfd as opposed to just sliding it?

for sure a swap is harder, but a swap on a down rail is harder than a swap on a kink
