Just a random question I keep thinking of. What is the earliest ever recorded opening day?

Some places have restrictions to open. No I don't know the date earliest opened. Maybe my hood Cuz they are open uear round. Anyway so places have restrictions so if you have 5 ft of snow in September, and your hill has a contracts saying it can't open til November, your gonna have to wait.

This happened to me last year. Got 4ish feet of snow on October 5th last year, but my hill wasn't allowed to open until December due to the insurance.

I would love my hill to open after the first good dumping of snow, but i'm sure insurance and the fact the most of their employes have other jobs during september/ october months is a bigger factor in when they open.

most resorts are under seasonal insurance so they won't open until at least december as well as closing early even though they have snow.
some resorts put snowmaking in the budget for opening october 1st tho

It closes every year for 2 to 4 weeks for "lift maintenance" but it still has snow and realistically they don't need to close for shit and they are just trying to save money. I ain't complaining though cause my off season is 4 weeks long haha. 8 days until opening bitches!

Ya dude get out here! We are going to have a full park on opening day and T-Line is getting a new park manager this year so you know the park has to be dope! I get an annual pass so I can ski year round. It's a little spendy but well worth it. It's called the complete pass, it's on the bottom left.

It really isn't man, I absolutely am happy paying that price to ski whenever I want and have a dope park as well. There's a good feeling about going up on the 4th of July and Riding in August.

You can if you put on a helmet with tons of lame stickers but the best way is to show up at 8am and help them setup and they let you ride for the day. It's called dig to ride, and it usually consists mostly of spreading salt and and hauling the salt bags around to the various features. Honestly the public park is pretty sick usually until early August but late August is always dope. The main advantage to doing the dig to ride at Shwindells is that you can use the rope tow which is awesome. But like I said in late august public gets moved to where windells and high cascade used to be and things get pretty legit. In the end it doesn't matter cause you're still skiing in the middle of the freakin summer and it's hard not to feel blessed.

I hope so. Looks like Palmer may have been dusted this week. Last year the weather was good the first weekend in October but we had to wait until October 11th for Palmer to run. Hopefully T-Line has all of the regular Sept. maintenance work done so we just have to pray for good weather.

Hahaha that's not spendy at all. I pay $350 to ski a mountain with a shitty park for 4-5 months. I was always jealous of the kids who got to ride hood. Can't imagine summer skiing.

there actually is a lot of shit they need to take care of with the lifts that would close the lifts down for several weeks. changing out worn out parts, testing electronics, greasing, etc.
