Ski Size?

I am 5'10", and I was thinking about getting a pair of skis that i can easily spin in. like a 166cm or a 168 (I figure if i get a shorter ski i'll have a really easy time spinning them). The skis i'm riding now are 178.

Any thoughts?

What skis and how much do you weigh. Weight is more important then height to determining the right length.

At 5'10 168cm twin tip skis would be wayyyyyy to short.

Sure you may find it a bit easier to spin on them but you're going to probably constantly wash out on landings due to the short length and your size plus you will struggle to hit big jumps and features on them becuase they'll probably get a lot of speed jitters which is really off-putting. A longer ski will also be better for general all mountain skiing.

178cm is the perfect size for you. Getting a better technique (through practise) for spinning is a much better thing to do than buying shorter skis. Remeber, pressure forward on the takeoff, have a good strong pop as you come off the end of the lip/takeoff, look around over you shoulder (very important) and bring your knees up.

Focus on building a good technique and ability level instead of just trying to spin as fast and as much as you can, it will make you a much better well rounded skier.
