Is it just me or does Patagonia fit terribly?

I'm a pretty small dude (5'6") and I've always had issues with the way Patagonia fits.

Every time I buy a medium t-shirt I need to boil it in hot water so it shrinks. I could go for a size small, but they seem to fit too tightly.

The sleeves always seem to be way too long on all of their stuff in general. So I can never purchase their jackets, fleeces, hoodies, etc. for casual wear.

I went to a Patagonia store with my friend last night. He's a little taller than me and he was having the same issue with sleeves being too long.

Anyone else have this issue with Patagonia? I've never tried their shorts/pants.

I don't think their stuff is gonna fit like typical NS likes it. I'm more or less your size, are the shirts not long enough and too wide? That usually the issue I have with t shirts. Seems like everything is made for small chubby kids. Like if I go up to a medium from a small, all that happens is the shirt gets wider and not any taller and the sleeves get bigger.

the rain jacket I have fits nicely though.

Word. Yeah I guess you could say that is the major issue. The sleeves just get longer and longer, but the shirt/fleece/jacket itself doesn't much.

I don't need their clothing to fit like Jiberish or anything. I'm just kind of confused as to why it doesn't fit more like The North Face or something.

I've never had a problem with their stuff. That said, I'm a lanky skinny guy.

5'11'' and 150lbs. I fit into a medium in the Fjord Flannels. I also have a large hoody that suits me for riding in the spring. Sometimes I toss a flannel over the hoody. I also use some of their base layers. Usually a medium for the cap 4 leggings, small or medium for top base layers depending on the piece.

And actually, I should add - with other clothing companies, sleeve length is sometimes an issue for me. Like I might size up to get the sleeves long enough, but then the fit in body is too loose.

I'm 5'9" 145 and find their newer freeride fit jackets are really nice in terms of fit. Got a Medium Untracked Jacket. It's a nice fit in the shoulders and a few inches longer than normal, so it's pretty steezy. Sleeves are just right for me. They do use a ton of different factories for different items, so maybe some items fit is different than others.

I actually really like there fit. They have some jackets which on me are longer then a regular fit but not silly tall like saga ect. I often find the arms too short I jackets too so I often find the opposite to you that I need to upsize to get a good fit whereas with pat I found a lrg powder blower fit really well. But this is a perfect wxame of why we all need to go to shops to buy outerwear. Not everything will suit everyone so people here need to go try differnt option more and find out what brands fit there body.

Dang, sorry OP but that made me want to buy patagonia, my sleeves are never long enough, large Saga is perfect waist length but way too short of sleeves, their XL is too long of body and perfect in the sleeves, haha, yeah, everybody likes different fits

My puffy is super wide, and not very long. I'm 6'2" and have a L down sweater, and its a little annoying but no big deal really. It's simply because I have a long fucking torso
