I realized today, after 22 years on this pleasant earth, that the phrase "Up and at em" was not "Up and adam."

I feel like such a dingus. I never understood how telling someone to wake up was synonymous with people named Adam, but I thought nothing of it. Today I realized it's a completely logical saying that means get up and ready.

I also was told growing up that if you crossed your eyes a bunch your eyes would stay that way. My parents used to say it. I assumed that's how people with lazy eyes got their lazy eyes. It wasn't until I was off in college and about 18 that I realized you can cross your eyes as long as you'd like and not have them stay that way.

MFW I realized these things





Anyone else have these sort of things happen to them that may make me feel better about my self?

snobunnywhat is wrong with all of you people regarding Disney? I mean-- didn't you recognize that Disney, would have "Disney" on their items? Not Gisney, Digney, or Disnep? Didn't you recognize how that didn't make sense?

I wouldn't go to a Toyota dealership, and a buy a new toyota, and think that the cursive on the back said "Topota"...even if it was a blatant "p"-- I'd go inside and be like..."why does your 'y' look like a 'p'? I would understand that no matter what it slightly resembled, it more than likely says Toyota for God sakes.


I knew it said Disney, I just never saw that "D" as a D.

OlimarI thought it was wheelBARREL for the longest time until I got a smart phone like two years ago and autocorrect wouldnt recognize the word and I eventually looked it up and learned it was WheelBARROW

The first few times I listened to the song "all star" by smash mouth I thought he was saying "She was looking kind of dumb, with her finger in her bum, and the shape of an 'L' on her forehead"
but it was actually "She was looking kind of dumb, with her finger and her thumb in the shape of an 'L' on her forehead"

From time to time I still think about my version when I listen to the song and laugh.

I went the longest time spelling it "Seperate" when using it as an adjective and Separate when using it as a verb.

On cereal boxes, it's not "englared to show detail" - it's "enlarged to show detail."

Realized this when I was maybe 15 or 16. I think I read it like that when I was young and didn't realize the englared isn't a word so I didn't think much of it and then didn't think about it for years, even though I'd see it nearly every day.
