I just got robbed in plain sight.

Was eating at dinner with my dad who came in from out of town (I'm in college) and someone broke into my truck and stole my laptop and iPad (with all my family pictures and sentimental stuff). I'm pretty dejected and need some good vibes from my people at NS, just trying to stay positive. All my work is gone

iPad isn't on the cloud, never set it up man. It was under the seat and we have heavily tinted windows. I guess I can learn from this, but it sucks hard dude. Now I get to put all of my money into re-purchasing my laptop and iPad

Sort of same thing happened to my family early this morning. My dad left my mom's car open last night and somebody walking down my block opened up her car and ransacked it. 7 people on my block got hit.

You just reminded me of a video I saw three years, called something like I got robbed on 42nd Street where some massive black guy told some small white kid to give him his gold chain and phone at like 2 p.m. On a Wednesday on the sidewalk and the kid did and then walked away. Flashback

Thieves are the scum of the earth. Stealing someone's personal possessions like an iPad or ski gear or anything in between is beyond fucked. Shitty people will do shitty things, I suppose.

If it's in plain sight and you're near stores and stuff, ask if any have security cameras that might be watching the area.

If I can go on a 3 day coke and stripper binge in New Orleans with 4k cash wad in my pocket and not have that jacked you can take care of your laptop dude.


(There were no fucking Bank of Americas or Wells Fargos in NO and I had just scalped a bunch of tickets at Ole Miss and had no clue the friend who helped me out who lived down there worked in a strip club and would have that lined up for me when I drove him back I didn't know what I was getting into or how charming the strippers would be.)


I took many precautions locking my cash in the car and putting the keys inbetween the mattress and box spring in the hotel room though I might be a sucker for buying these dumb stripper hos coke booze and hotel rooms but none of them got my wad of cash. :) Again no fucking banks there it really sucked having to roll around with all that loot so fucked up and trying to pop back to the room for a beej every few hrs.

They broke the window dude. Why would you think that I left the door unlocked, they smashed my window in then unlocked it. I would be taking responsibility if I didn't lock my stuff up.

When I was in highschool some kids in my class got busted for breaking into cars stealing fucking change. People are scumbags.

I can't stand thieves. Glad it's becoming less accepted.

I had a friend who had their iPod stolen out of their car. They smashed in his window stole his iPod and left his wallet(wallet had $150 in it and they never even looked through the wallet, Some really dumb person). I do really hate thieves and have learned never to leave anything of value in my car. Sucks to hear though man. Maybe you can get it back though check the classified ads and see if the person is stupid enough to try and sell it back to you. I know a few people that have gotten their stuff back that way.

If someone robbed me I would probably tell people they pulled a gun on me to get my wallet even if the reality was I was off my head on coke and not in a position to fight and handed the shit over. People tend to lie like that after falling victim to robbery.


But whatever man I feel bad for the dude its not about the money in this situation they got irreplacable shit from him.

I know that it's happened to other people. I know part of it is my fault because I never backed up my priceless family photos that I can't get back (some with deceased relatives). It just really sucks and I hope that people can learn from my stupidity. Back your files up. Even though they broke the glass in I should've had it locked in the console or something. 20/20 hindsight

I almost got mugged in the middle of a Mcdonald's at 11:30 am while I was on spare at my highschool a few blocks away. That was fucked up, never had to run so fast in my life. Stupid mcdicks employees wouldn't do shit for me and even told my rents that I asked them to help me "fight the guy". Pretty messed up situation all around.

That sucks though OP for real, It's hard to think that people would just let things like that happen in broad daylight right in front of them.
