chronics vs. stl's vs. msp's - which should i get?

i'm looking at getting one of the above, it'll probably be the msp for it's all-round abilities, but i'm a bit worried that the ski won't perform on hardpack. so i'm also considering the chronics and stl's. i guess i'd favor the stl's but i've heard they're soft and shite outside the park. i'm 5'3 but reasonably heavy and strong, and i load up a lot of pressure on my skis so i want something pretty stiff, but i'm a bit of a novice in the park so i'd maybe be wanting something a bit softer in there for learning butters and stuff.
it's likely i'll be skiing 30% exclusive park, 60% on piste hardpack, 10% pow, so i want a ski that'll carve good, and basically be an all-round performer. i live in australia and ski also in new zealand and aspen so i'll be skiing pretty variable snow conditions.

i'd say the MSP. i have the STLs and they are a full blown park ski. really soft... great for butters and shit, but rediculouslty soft.

my brother has chronics and he really likes them. they are a really good all mountaqin ski and they work really well in the park. they cut through ice really well and work well on packed snow and in powder.

MSPs Hands down. Your not going to be able to race gates with them but they are amazing none the less. They work fine on hard pack, they are not really quik because they have a sidecut made for a longer turning radius, but they work. They are really sick and have a stiffer flex.

exactly how soft are the stls? it is just at the flex points, or over the whole ski? i tried some 1260's from a couple of years back and they were so soft that you could shake the ski and the whole thing would flex like a rubber pencil, and they sucked, so i'm reluctant to get anything too soft, but if they're not that much softer than the ar5's that's probably okay then.
the msp is the front runner at the moment, but i'm still not sure about the sidecut - i can just see them not turning at all. i'm wary about Lines because those old 1260's were so shitty, and the quality of them doesn't seem to good - i hate the thinness of the ski that line's had last year. unfortunately i can't demo any of these skis because i have to mailorder them.

ok, i just got to ride my new stls for 5 days running. get them! i thought they would be a wet nooodle, cause they are super soft to flex. however, cause the way the core is manufactured, with maple underfoot, these things are in-fucking-sane. they have PLENTY of all mountain capabiltiy, and they are insane in the park. tons of ollie power, and they are light as fuck. oh yeah, the ptex sidewall jazz is true- they seriously look brand new. on my tms, with abs sidewalls, i had huge chunks missin the first day out. not here! GET these skis. the chrons are a good ride, but the stl is definatly a better ski.

Definitely holds an edge. I just rode my new pair, which replaced my PE's, and I love them.

the msps or chronics. the msps are better built. different from chronics. demo them. but not the stls. maybe try ar5's or arv's. depends. the msps are stiff, but by what your saying theyre great. in park too.

jake, Why not STLs? they are way more similar to the chrons than the MSPs. stl is a park ski that rides good all mountain. the msp is an all mountain ski that rides good in the park.
