I'm looking for a solid all around park ski that will last me a while. I'm 5'8, 145 pounds and ride roughly 70/30 rails/jumps in Alberta, mostly on the icy hills of COP, I'm a fairly advanced skier, so I need something that will be stable underfoot for when I'm hitting big jumps, but still quick enough to whip big spins into and out of rails. In the past I've ridden 178 RMU Diams (I liked them but I found them a little too long and not quick enough on rails), and 170 Rossignol Storms (Loved them but got too small.) Having ridden wider park skis I think I'd like to try something with a little less bulk and maybe some rocker because I'm not so great at butters and switch takeoffs. What I've been looking at are 176 Punx, 176 Head Oblivions and 176 AR7/Pipe Cleaners, because I can find them for cheap, but I can't decide. I'm considering 176 Infamous as well, but does anyone know if their durability issues have been resolved? Please help me out yo
If you're willing to go a little pricier than what you're looking at, i would definitely recommend having a look at amplid syntaxes. I have a pair of these and they have pretty much no swingweight, they're very stiff and stable, and rip down icy groomers with no problem I've found. Also the 86 waist means that they're super quick and responsive, although that seems quite a lot thinner than what you've skied before. Plus they're really durable, so well worth the extra money you pay
Out of those I'd say Punx. Actually it seems like the Infamous isn't a bad choice either. I'm assuming FR is out of your range but everyone loves them.
