why does it seem like they are so clueless about firearms or really aything in general?

anyways article i stumbled across:


"We have federal regulations and state laws that prohibit hunting ducks with more than three rounds. And yet it's legal to hunt humans with 15-round, 30-round, even 150-round magazines."
Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-California) made this comment during a March 7 Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on gun control, claiming her proposed semi-automatic weapons ban would finally make it illegal to hunt people.

Since the bill didn't make it out of committee and was subsequently muzzled by the Senate, in Feinstein's world, it remains legal to hunt humans with "150-round magazines."

Such hysterical hyperbole is nothing new for Feinstein, who in 1994 said the Clinton-Era Assault Weapons Ban she authored didn't go far enough in restricting firearms.

"If I could have banned them all -- 'Mr. and Mrs. America turn in your guns' -- I would have!" she said in a quote that endures as a rallying cry for the growing legion of "Mr. and Mrs. Americas" who fear Feinstein's ultimate aim is to criminalize private ownership of firearms.

PASKIINGSUCKSLook I'm not even against making assault rifles or high mag handguns hard to get. I'm just saying severely limiting the buying of ammo is ridiculous. How does a cap of 500 rounds of total ammo a year sound? I'd vote in favor of that.


Why even do that? I live in New York, thanks to Cuomo and his band of loonies, I can even find enough .22 ammo to go teach my girlfriend how to shoot. I have not seen one box of it in the stores since the "SAFE" act passed.

Woah woah WOAH, thats the slipping slope argument and it is never EVER true and I will hear none of it my friend you are flat out WRONG!!!!

I can see it both ways. Sometimes tightening leads to even further regulation and more tightening. Other times it blows over and the regulations are seen as silly and overturned. I mean we did turn the assault weapons ban back over so who knows.

Anywho, Yea I feel for ya man, I'm glad I don't live in NY. I don't know all about what happened with gun laws up there but I heard they made some major regulation changes. How much of it is actively enforced though? Not an argument, just as a hunter and gun lover I'm genuinely interested how that's going.

Dude, don't even get me started on .22 ammo. I have no fucking clue what is up with that but I can tell you it's not just your problem up there in NY, it's impossible to find down here in PA as well and all across the country from what I hear. Sadly, gone are the days of sitting on the back porch and plunking pie plates and beer cans all afternoon with the ole 22 rifle. I just don't understand it at all.

I have yet to hear of it being enforced, but it is still a very new law. You are better off raping your sister, than being caught with a clip holding 11 or more rounds, from a legal stand point that is.

AR's are illegal, or anything with a pistol grip, hell for that matter anything with a bayonet lug is now illegal. They deemed an "Assault" weapon being anything that has any one of a huge list of attachments. It is really silly, a .22 with a bayonet lug is a illegal, but a 50 cal sniper is still 100 percent legal.

Yeah man, it really is a bummer with the .22, sorry to hear that it is not just in new york. My buddy lives in Missouri and everytime he comes home, he brings me up a brick.

yeah .22 and especially .22lr are really hard to get anymore.

Heres a hint for ya, mn ganders gets their ammo in on tuesdays. And you cab get 5 100 round boxes. Cant speak for non mn ganders though

I've heard stories of people attacking the skid of .22 ammo in cabelas and wal mart as the guys are pulling it through the store on the way to stock the shelves. Shit is ridiculous and I have no clue why.

There is just a huge demand for it. Most gun owners have a .22 and its the least expensive ammo to buy. At the gander mtn closest to me I can get it 6 days after they stock their shelves though. For some reason the dont seem to run out there even though the cabelas 1 mile away never gas it in stock

Normal prices like everywhere else. There real cheap and more expensive brands. I havent bought any in a while but it was just under $10 per 100 I believe?
