Triples at xgames next year

So since there were all those triple flips in the olympic slopestyle does this mean xgames and dew tour and fis are going to follow suit this year and make enormous jumps? If they want to keep all this new hype on skiing wouldn't they have to keep showcasing all the huge triples and stuff in competitions?

The big air jumps is always pretty big. Slope courses aren't small either. People just gotta throw them.

i agree with your idea that you would think they'd want to "keep up" by making the jumps suitable for the trips to keep up, but as said, people did throw them last year in slope, and the big air jump is def big

but x games is always limited by its space. as the jumps are, theyre already like 2 feet from each other, just land take off land take off. i do wish that wasn't the case and they could have more room for those big scary jumps they had at sochi slope tho

I would love to see courses with more creative line choices. Judges want to see creativity in a run but with the way courses have been designed in the last several years, there hasn't been any possibility of major creativity while still keeping a high degree of tech/difficulty in tricks.

Personally I'd love to see more transfers (ie throwback to Parkasaurus), different shaped rails, etc... made possible in runs. I think when those kind of things happen, we'll see less "spin to win" type of comp runs.

The way things are going I wouldn't be surprised if some athletes started using the courses completely different! Also with comps that Sammy C and Candide put together last year I bet a lot of comps are going to start popping up left and right.

They could easily managed to create jumps as big as the ones in Sochi, but X Games has four jumps, in Sochi there was only three.

The jumps at xgames and dew tour are about as big as they can make them, no doubt we'll see some triples though. Keep in mind last year triples didn't necessarily win slopestyle

I honestly like the tight flow. I mean a little space wouldn't be bad but fuck it. IF they mess up their runs their out anyway at this level. Idk. Also with jumps that big you can't really get them THAT close. Long landings and takeoffs. Idk.

I wish. I remember when x slope used to have hips, 1/4 pipes, bizarre rails, pyramid style hits etc. The last 5-10 years has been A couple rail features then 4 stock big jumps. I think the last time they had a different jump was that channel gap like 6 years ago and that was still a straight jump. Sometime around then maybe the year before they had that butter pad in there.

At least the rail setups are getting creative.

Not going to happen... if the X-games is considered as part of FIS anyways. Regulation kills creativity which we've seen mainly with the Dew Tour courses.
