MetropolisPlease explain the scoring, how can i crush some 70ish pillows and get a line score not even close to about 10 with a multiplier. Where is the math? How does it spit out __ % each time?
Why is our rider the size of a sumo wrestler?
Addicted to this game, but need answers as my frustration is consuming my fun!!
ANSWER 1)
Metropolis, your comment is the best so far! Thanks for reaching out. The scoring is a little funky, I admit, but once I explain it, it might make a little more sense.
Your score, or Line Score, is determined by how many blue triangles (line indicators) you hit during your entire run. Each blue triangle that you hit gives you a point. When you hit a blue triangle, you also hit the pillow that it's sitting on. In between blue triangles, you're also going to hit pillows that don't have blue triangles sitting on them. Every pillow, irrespective of whether or not it has a blue triangle on it, goes toward your Pillow Count (small number below NRG in upper right hand corner; NRG = energy).
Your score multiplier, or that little floating number that you see when you wipe out, is determined by the ratio of total pillows hit to the number of blue triangles hit, or your pillow count to your Line Score. Now, the ratio isn't 1:1, as you obviously know. Rather, the logic is simply the higher your pillow count to Line Score ratio goes, the higher your multiplier will be. For example, if you hit 100 pillows and 50 line indicators before you crash, your ratio is 2:1. I've assigned 2:1 to receive a score multiplier of 10X, so your final score will be 500. The means that you went crazy to hit as many pillows as you could in between hitting blue triangles, and that means you're tapping super quickly.
The other ratios are about this (with some exceptions, because it's not perfectly linear):
1.8 : 8 = 8x multiplier
1.6 : 6 = 6x multiplier
1.4 : 4 = 4x multiplier
1.2 : 2 = 2x multiplier
THE POINT IS, the object is to hit as MANY pillows as you can while hitting all of the pillows that have blue arrows. The saying goes, THE HARDER YOU RIDE, THE BETTER YOUR SCORE, and that's for real life ski competitions, as well.
ANSWER 2)
LOL, this is a valid question. I think I just wanted to make them look like over-exagerated, cartoony mountain people who do nothing other than point lines, plant pole, and take face shots all day like there's no tomorrow. To be honest, this game and others are obviously inspired by Flappy Bird, etc. The only thing is, I'm not a bird, I'm a skier, and all of the ski games are either too much of a commitment or super lame.
MY TIP to you and everyone is to keep your thumbs close to the screen, use both thumbs, and tap back and forth not stop so as to MAKE SURE not to miss any blue triangle or pillows.
Thanks for playing! Please make sure to leave a review with feedback like this. Let me know if you have any more questions.
Best!
