Skateboard Edit. Thoughts?

Hey M&A I filmed this edit with my friend Jake the other day. I wanted to test out my schools Rokinon 85mm Cine lens hooked up to a follow focus and a GH3. I came away with more shots than I expected so I threw an edit together. I know theres a lot of slow mo but I really wanted to use a song my friend produced and felt like real time footage didn't work well. Im curious to hear your thoughts on it whether they are good or bad. Thanks.

Just my personal opinion but skate edits shouldn't have much slo-mo and filler shots as that

I thought it was ok, nothing really stood out about it though.
And I'm not sure if it was how you uploaded it, but some of it looked a little grainy around the edges

Yeah I guess I was trying to take a more cinematic approach then the normal fish skate edit that i'm used to. Thanks for your input man.

I thought the edit was pretty well put together. The colours were on point but I feel it needs something else. It doesn't really have a huge variety in it. Maybe you're trying to go for the singularity but I think it'd work out better if you got a larger variety of shots on different features, different parks, different days, etc.

The edit looks solid though, good job!

I totally know what you are saying. It started out as a test of some new equipment on a sunday afternoon and then I decided to put an edit together and throw it up on here to see what people have to say. I agree with the variety part. Thanks for the positive feedback. +k

Some slo mo is good but i felt like i was waiting ages for the next shot. the actual filming was on point tho.

Not bad, colors are good, but the edit needs some variety. As some of the others have already pointed out, less slo-mo is better.

Very solid cinematography, nice work overall. Im a fan of more cinematic edits like this, I just think its better to mix in some fish eye with all the long lens shots. Music was kinda weird I thought too, and the pacing needed to be a little faster, but hey you do you and I'll support anything that is trying to be more cinematic!!

Skating was sick. Didn't really need the shots of him failing at the trick though.

Quality was on point. Overall it was nice, but even with that song, I feel like you could've mixed in some fast paced stuff.

The issue is that you were only using that one lens, which I understand. If you did have a fisheye or something to mix in some faster follow shots, I think it'd be sick.
