frankspiritoexactly, & then you lower the risk of the cops coming to bust the party by keeping it limited to the social
mmccarthy14But they let the girls in, right? 6 girls are let in and two guys aren't. Hmmmmm yep deffinitely cause they don't want the cops called. Luckily my friends weren't douchebags and didn't go and hung out with us instead.
congrossman. From what ive seen about the Frats here at URI. (which mind you isant much). Ive been pleasantly surprised to how friendly and inviting the brothers have been at the rush events that ive attended. Like frank i know a few people in different frats that have a sort of outlook on life that i do. Or interestests at least. The last rush event i attended brought to light the huge networking that a brotherhood brings. IE internships and job opportunities. Maybe its just the fact of rushing and they will all turn different after interveiws are over. Im not quite sure yet. but the brothers ive met have been average interesting kids. Lets just say i will continue to attend rush events and learn more about Frats. Deffinatly not what i thought it was.

mmccarthy14Just saying all frat guys I've had experiences with suck. I like the idea of frats, not the people.
Chubz.Definitely checking out the frats at cuse next year. I guess greek life is huuuuuuuuuge at syracuse

Dolan.EscobarI cant get enough of this guy
frankspiritothats why you should rush mike so you can meet people from all of them and correctly determine its for you for yourself
frankspiritoNot that I have a hard time making friends, but it's a great way to meet a lot of people imo + sorority girls
frankspiritoI see where you are coming from, I go to URI & Greek Life is most of the party scene here, at a party school
mmccarthy14i dont get invited to any rush events so i havent been to one. Like I said yesterday, I might look into rushing in the spring.
Dolan.EscobarIf u need frats to have a party scene, then no u dont go to a party school[/QUOTE
Seriously dude? look up anything on URI. #1 party school in the country back through the 70s 80s, they had to go to a dry campus just to get rid of the reputation. Only till recently did things go back and they are ranked very high. And yes almost all of the party scene is greek
MinggYo sames guys haha[/QUOTE yoooo let's party sometime! Henny and Phil are going to be on campus Thursday

blondie.OP, you asked for opinions and then argue, rebut, or disagree with anyone who stuck up for the stereotypes (they exist for a reason).
I'm not a frat guy. I went to some rush events and found it wasn't for me. I know some top notch people who are involved in greek life. Most of the frat dudes/chicks I encounter are shitty. In my experience, the attitudes, exclusion, and overall shittiness that come with greek life go above and beyond making up for the philanthropy they do and the grades they require.
Two cents.
Peter.depends on the school and the fraternity, but for the most part, the typical "frat guy" stereotype only accounts for about 10% of all fraternity guys. seriously, for the most part guys in fraternities are just normal guys.
don't knock something you haven't tried before. give rush a look if it's something youre into. if you can find a fraternity that matches up with your interests/personality, go for it. you won't regret it.
