.Hugo.Bring back the old ns logo rednames. Its what the people want
Mr.Bishop
Mr.Bishop
nutz.Sorry I had to do it as a tribute of sorts.
BWalmerI don't care if it's the most confusing logo ever, this one is nostalgic:
Mr.BishopNS Clothing again. Not newschoolers. Harvey was very particular about differentiating NS Clothing and Newschoolers.
BWalmerI guess that explains why it seems so nostalgic to me. It's what I saw people wearing before I joined this site. That logo is probably one of the reasons I joined, or at least joined when I did. I remember being on a lift with a guy and seeing that logo on a shirt or something and asking him what it meant and told me to come here and I've been pretty hooked on the site ever since.
Mr.BishopDude, that story used to be how we got 96% of the traffic to Newschoolers.
So what I'm hearing is we need to decide on what the dopest NS stickers in the universe are, and then hit the afterburners on massive distribution.

.Rybak.Ns logo contest!
MLJI second both of these points. A logo contest would be sweet.
cydwhitMy takeaway from this? We need more NS clothing. Seriously, I think that is the best "advertisement" for the site, I remember seeing the logo around on helmets a couple times before I joined but I think things like the NS jacket are super rad. Get some rad clothes in the store and get some good skiers in em. Get as many kids wearing and displaying the logo as possible. Make it easier to get stickers and have more items in the store. Can you imagine if the best skier at the mountain rocked some kind of NS clothing?
I realize that is a lot of work and probably impractical but it would be so rad for spreading the word.
Mr.BishopSomeone do a mashup of the old logo with the stacked text.
LE.SkiingI'm not sure how other's think of this. Regardless I tried a few different options. Figured I would let people check them out and see whether they like them or not.
anyway here is how I mashed them up:
I am also aware some people not like any of them. I am completely open to constructive criticism.

cydwhitYou said you're open to criticism, so here goes, I feel like these are too busy and I also feel like gradients are very dated, I like the old (or new I guess) curvy NS better than any of those, the logo needs to be uber clean and simple, I see the problems with the curvy logo but I think it's simplicity and immediate recognize-ability were it's strong points
DingoSeanI agree with the 'busy' and 'gradients are dated' but if this is cleaned up, simplified, and made as one base colour, I'd find this logo a million times more recognizable as newschoolers than the curvy 'new' one ever was - not to mention a million times more clever.
Then again I'm ancient history, so maybe I'm out of loop of what's recognized to most.
LE.Skiingwell I did another while taking criticism into account.
Mr.BishopDude reverse the balance or make it equal. I always felt that one of the weaknesses of the new logo was that the text was sweet but being dwarfed by the logo wasn't right.
The main question really is if these two things fit together or not of course. :)
NICE WORK!

DingoSeanThis. Scale up that stacked text to the same height. and we are in business!
LE.SkiingSeeing as changing sizes are super simple in the vector/font format I have this in it was a breeze.
Also added another just because the stacked needs to be bigger for the reason that stacks win stacks.
(It's not that much bigger but didn't want it to be too much bigger. also if you wanna see the old NS logo smaller I can still do that.)
Last, but not least...
Fuck it, that's why.
Mr.BishopI kind of feel like they just clash and don't work together. I don't think its what you're doing, its just that its two eras together and it isn't quite a fit.... I dunno am I crazy?

.Hugo.Maybe the newschoolers needs a different font that matches the ns better?
DingoSeanEither that or fuck the stacked text. That shit will be out of style in a month. This is a website, not a nike Tshirt from two years ago. Everyone knows this logo, c'mon.

DingoSeanUnless someone can come up with something super creative and awesome for a logo, I say independent stacked text or old logo might be the way to go...
DingoSeanSorry bud,
blondie.^ I see what you're trying to do, but there's just no balance in it IMO.
I think the stacked text/old logo combo has a lot of potential. The reason it's thrown off is the cut corners of the logo clashing in close proximity with the square text of the stacked text. What would happen if you squared the logo corners? Would it lose all it's appeal?
(This was my favorite ns logo, id love to see it back).
LE.SkiingI think I got the idea of what you were saying and it doesn't look horrible it's just different...
