Taxes on international shipping

Ordering a bunch of camera shit to my house in NZ but getting it from the states. Am I going to get fucked with a bunch of taxes somehow after I order it?

Just saw a thing about "we aren't responsible for levees and this and that charged to you after you order"

I've gotten things from Japan before shipping to the US. Bit of a different situation but I thought it was pretty standard. It was like 15 bucks to ship it and I didn't get hit with anything I didn't see coming

Just looked it up on the customs site. They want 400. LOL

I guess I'm not getting a new camera till I get back to the states

I buy a bunch of exotic snacks from around the world and fuck taxes.
Lets take England an item 1.50£
that equates to like 2 dollars.
VAT= 1£
import\export tax=2£
so tally that up: 5.50£

so we convert that to 8 dollars
plus shipping is like 15 bucks, so tally for one item is 23$
fuck taxes

yup, those taxes are a bitch. Takes all the fun out of making awesome deals from the US and getting them shipped to germany too...

was all stoked on getting a new camera. Got everything I wanted and was happy with the price.

Then taxes came in and were all like NAH BRO GO FUCK YURSELF. Now I'm still gonna be cameraless in NZ. Unless I can magically make my nikon start working again. Still in paperweight mode.


Thinking of just ordering everything now and just getting it shipped to my parents house in the states and then grabbing from there when I get back.

WHY YOU NO WANT ME TO BE ABLE TO TAKE PIKCHURS AND FILM THINGS AND STUFF.

you could maybe have it sent to you parents house and then have them ship it to you. Maybe not in original packaging and shit, but as far as I know that might work (might not be totally legal though) and I'm not familiar with the laws in the US/NZ.

Would probably be super expensive to ship it. You need some shipping connects to not have it be totally outrageous. Idk if my parents would do it either. IT'd probably just sit there.

As far as taxes it should be all good done like that but I don't see it happening unfortunately. Might just buy the camera here and grab the other stuff later.
