I am a little disappointed with the NFL. He was already suspended for 2 games for the same incident earlier on. Then TMZ leaked this footage from when he was already busted and the NFL double fucked him.

That's like going to work and getting a week off for hitting your girlfriend. Then TMZ releases more footage and you get fired for the incident that already happened.

GRANTED I do not support this idiot and his actions in the first place, I'm just disappointed on how its being handled because of the media.

i thought he was still prosecuted (even with his wife declining to testify) but was getting off easy on some sort of plea deal or a first time offenders rehab/counseling/anger management type deal.

He is not the first person in recent years to hit a girl and still play in the NFL. Adam Pacman Jones did it and only sat out a year or two due to a combination of bad behavior (not the domestic incident alone)and is now playing for the bengals. It sad that the only reason people care is because it was caught on video.

On the morning of February 19, 2007, during the 2007 NBA All-Star Game weekend in Las Vegas, Jones was allegedly involved in an altercation with an exotic dancer at Minxx, a local strip club. Jones and American rap artist Nelly patronized the club that evening. Nelly, along with someone known as Richard Rich, showered the stage with hundreds of one-dollar bills; an act known as "making it rain." Jones then joined Nelly by throwing his own money for "visual effect." Club promoter Chris Mitchell then directed his dancers to collect the money. According to the club's co-owner, Jones became enraged when a dancer began taking the money without his permission. He allegedly grabbed her by her hair and slammed her head on the stage. A security guard intervened and scuffled with members of Jones' entourage of half a dozen people. Jones then allegedly threatened the guard's life.[7] During this time, Mitchell and a male associate left the club with a garbage bag filled with $81,020 and two Breitling watches, which police later recovered.[8] After club patrons left following the original confrontation, the club owner claimed a person in Jones' entourage returned with a gun and fired into a crowd, damaging equipment and hitting three people, including the security guard involved in the earlier skirmish. The guard was shot twice, and one of the people hit—former professional wrestler Tommy Urbanski—was paralyzed from the waist down. Jones maintains that he did not know the shooter, although the club's owner insists that Jones did. On March 26, 2007, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department recommended to the city's district attorney that Jones be charged with one count of felony coercion, one misdemeanor count of battery and one misdemeanor count of threat to life.

Unless his fiancee was coming at him with some kind of weapon, there is absolutely no excuse to hit her, let alone knock her out. He can't get pushed around or take a couple of hits from a 110lb woman until he can get out of the elevator?

I wonder what goes on at home. Men don't just throw punches like that out of nowhere. It's probably not the first (or last) time he's hit her and I guarantee it's not the first time he's hit a woman.

I do see where you guys are coming from there and sure there are times where it is ok(maybe not exactly OK, but less frowned upon) for a man to hit a woman. This however in my mind is not one of those times. The man is obviously stronger and could over power her easily. I could see it being ok if she had a knife and was coming at him to snuff out his life, however this wasn't the case. He could have just as easily grabbed her and prevented her from hitting him.

I would use that much force to defend myself if something as small as a squirrel was coming at me. A 110lb woman lunging toward me while I'm backed into a corner? You can bet your fucking ass I'm swinging.

There's a reason there's weight classes in professional fighting. Someone his size and strength versus someone her size isn't even close to fair, let alone a male versus a female. He could have caused some serious damage. It really doesn't matter what she did or didn't do, she didn't deserve to get hit in the face by a guy twice her size, who knows how many times her strength, or by a guy who spends all day getting run over by guys the size of small cars. No matter what she did to him, unless she had a gun or a knife or something, he could have taken it and restrained her another way. It was completely unnecessary.

But to be fair, please give me a scenario where she deserved to get knocked the fuck out with one hit and then dragged out of an elevator by her fiance who is twice her size. Cause I can't think of a single one.

I don't know. That isn't the point.

I'm not saying she deserved it. I'm saying we don't know for sure that she didn't "deserve" it, provided one is to take the stance that violence beyond self-defense is ever justified (for the record, I do not personally hold this opinion).

My point is that if this video showed some tiny dude getting the shit beat out of him, there would be a lot more people saying "he was probably talking shit" - thinking up some unknown scenarios in which he might have "deserved" it. The gender of the victim determines the degree to which people are willing to entertain the idea of known unknowns.

On a side note, this is just typical rage porn that's been sensationalized because the perpetrator happened to be an NFL athlete.
