just wanna make sure im not the only one that gets to enjoy this fun (often free) activity

i have a pretty basic quiver. boss/destroyer for long distance. groove and banshee for mid distance and aviar for putter.

I'm not super serious about it but it's really fun. Chestnut Ridge park outside of Buffalo has a really sick course. So many good times frolfing in high school.

We got some nice parks in Michigan. I use a two disc combo. My driver/midrange is my Dragon, solid weight, but breaks too much so I typically over-head toss it. Then for my putter, you can't go wrong with the wizard.

Play pretty much whenever I have free time from school and work. Its the best.

I throw
Star Wraith for distance
ESP Buzz for mid-range
R-pro Aviar for putt and approach

I have had my Aviar for a while now, it is super worn in and it is my baby

I have a star katana and a blizzard katana depending on if I'm backhanding or if I'm forehanding. Mid range and putts are with my trusty aviar. I play a few rounds a week.

I can't stand this crap. Gives actual golf a horrendous name. Its not Frisbee golf. Its just throwing Frisbee at fucking poles and trees. It isn't a sport its a hobby. Cant stand ultimate players.

Go out and get a pair of golf clubs and put your time to something that might be useful one day. Business world revolves around golf not to mention its fun as hell

I found a disc in my side yard one time and play once in a while. It's not that hard once you get the S pattern down on your throw and have some control over it.

I usually play one round every weekend and always try to scout new courses to play when I am traveling. As of now i have played 63 different courses.

Its shaped differently so it tracks straight instead of diving and turning as easy. If there is any wind when you putt prepare for some really fucked up shit.

I primarily throw a star Innova FL back and fore hand, a star roc for a mid, and a r-pro rhyno for putting and short approach. I lack distance on drives but I put on good control when I anhyzer. I play at 7,000ft elevation.

I also want a buzz ti again. The ti plastic is so fucking dope.

seriously though.

and to whoever asked about buying expensive discs, you can get 3 pretty nice discs for like 30 bucks at most major sporting goods stores. a driver, putter, and midrange. those should last until you are good enough to justify more expensive ones

Actually its not frisbee related at all since Wham-O owns the name/patent on FISBEE. Other than the 175g part, they are totally different.

That said, golf is awesome, and you may be surprised by the amount of adult professionals that play disk, in business atire many times too. I see it all the time out here at JH.

I had to get a bag recently. Try to play at least every weekend. There's tons of courses all around. A bit of travel can take you to some cool courses.

I'll just list my current favorites

Drivers
Innova Tee-Rex
Discraft Buzz (mid range driver but it carries super far with a flick)
Discraft Cyclone (really good if you can throw it super flat without wind)
Innova Tern
Innova Beast

Mid-Range and Fairway
Innova Cheetah (super forgiving for new players)
Discraft Drone- I've bashed this thing into so many trees it's retarded

I've had the same Discraft Focus putter for like 6 years and can't bring myself to another.

If you're serious about getting into it I highly reccomend stepping up to the higher end plastic. Holds form better so you can get away with haphazardly throwing it. I know its the Pro for the super hard plastic and Star for the more flexy on Innova, not sure on Discraft.


IF YOU WANT TO SAVE MONEY BUYING DISCS buy X-outs or factory rejects. You can get 4 good discs for like $20 just because some printing is a bit off.

That's the place indeed. Super fun course up and over sand dunes and through and around trees and whatnot. Just pack some water or beer in the mid of summer as it feels like you're playing in a desert. Love that course, full 18 also.

Been throwing for many years now and I still love to get out. I don't play as much as I used to, but it's still fun. Started playing in MN, and now live and play in WA.

I currently have the following in my bag;

Innova Star Boss - driver
Innova Star Wraith - driver
Innova KC Pro Roc - midrange
Innova Star Roc - midrange
Innova Star Aviar - midrange/putter
JK Aviar - putter
Birdie - putter
Vibram Ridge - putter

Pretty much only use the Wraith, Boss, KC Roc and Ridge though.

p-foStoked to see what Seattle has to offer this fall.


Seattle has some sick courses for sure. Lots of variety as well. I have not played all of the courses yet but I've gotten a good feel for several.

If you want some ridiculously tight trees and narrow channels to throw through, hit up "North Park" aka Mineral Springs Park across I-5 from Northgate. Always some interesting characters around there as well.

SeaTac is a pretty large course with 27 baskets and is definitely worth playing at least once just for the experience.

Lakewood has some cool holes, the first hole immediately starts over a pond, there is a monster driving hole here as well. There is a disc shop on site and the owner also maintains several of the local courses and is a cool guy. This course is less than a 5 minute drive from the SeaTac course.

Montlake Terrace was one of the strangest and most diverse courses I've played out here. There are some tricky holes that use lots of trees and elevation changes that can instantly ruin your fun. The last hole...holy shit.

White River in Auburn is also a really fun course. This one has a good mix of wooded and open shots and will definitely keep you on your toes.

Juel Park in Redmond is a flat and wide open course that is easy as fuck in the summer, but when they stop mowing the entire area and just the fairways it's very easy to lose a disc. In the winter months it gets pretty sloppy as the ground holds the water.

It is actually called disc golf, and you are throwing at baskets not poles and trees. It is as much of a sport as golf is, there is even a professional tour (http://www.pdga.com/). I don't know why you are hating on ultimate players, ultimate and disc golf are two completely different things.

Unfortunately I don't have hundreds of dollars to go buy a set of golf clubs, let alone enough money to spend on each round of golf. Sorry I don't put all of my time into something that might be useful one day, I am impressed that you are able to do that. I am only a third year engineering student, but I am pretty sure the business world does not revolve around golf. I agree golf is fun.

It was a lot of fun, especially where you could walk barefoot through some sections of the course in the sand. I've been going to Rehoboth with my family for years and never really ventured very far into the park until last year. I was kind of taken aback by the landscape, definitely a cool experience, looking forward to going back.

My favorite beach state park by far. Stayed there like 8 years ago by chance for a concert down in Dewey, never went back to Jersey again. Been camping and driving the truck on the beach there to surf fish ever since. Always play a round or two whenever we are down there. Take a long board some time and do a loop on the blacktop trails. Hike the tower for a sunset over the bay sometime also. I just love that park and the disc golf course is some sweet icing on the cake.

Play every day after school. Such a fun sport.

We've got a little course in town that we go to during the week and then we do the CMC course on the weekends.

Got into it last day of summer, so I'm pretty new but I love the sport. So much fun.

I played like three courses around Utica, i'll look them up, ran and maintained by parks. Cost money but so worth it for the up keep!
