Rub on wax?

I use rub on wax, I honestly just wax my nose, so I can lean forward in the lift lines and move.

but is it worth it?

Id only use it if you really have to. I wax my skis religiously and I use it only if I really have to. Only problem is that it doesnt last long. My advice to you would be to get swix instead of dakine and when you do use it, make sure to buff it in really really well with the cork

Rub on wax is super temporary. So if you hadn't waxed in a while and you wanted a bit of extra speed for half the day - bam rub on wax to the rescue. Could be good if the temperature has a major change and your last real waxing was for a totally different temp. Can get real sticky.

Of course having said that in all my years riding a lot of park I think I maybe waxed my skis once. I never bother much... which maybe is stupid but is what it is.

A day is pushing it. More like 5 or so run depending on snow conditions. Snow, especially harder snow, wears that shit right off. Just throw on a hot wax every 2 or 3 days of skiing or if the temps change a lot and you'll never need shitty rub on wax.

Benefit of using hot wax is that great smell stays for a while.

The most important question which no one has asked yet is: what do you have for skis?

Many low end park skis use extruded bases which don't hold wax well (read: at all), so waxing these skis tends to be a waste of time. The best solution is to use a rub on called Maxi-Glide that is specifically developed for extruded bases. But, like all rub on waxes, this only lasts for a couple of runs.

High end skis usually use sintered bases which are purposefully designed to be hot waxed. It is these skis that will benefit from regular hot waxing.

TLDR: we need to know what ski you've got in order to actually help you.
