How durable are Line skis?

Just dont get masterminds and you should be okay if you are the right person for them. Line isnt the most durable product out there, if you go hard and your a bigger dude i would look elsewhere.

Well they are $350 from line. That tells you it's a price point ski. And it is a price point ski. I wouldn't buy a ski from line that doesn't cost at least $500 or else they are gonna fail on you.

I saw the edges on the afterbangs really starting to have problems, so yeah, not very durable

Skis to avoid:
Mastermind
Afterbang
TC

Skis that are usually alright:
Chronic
Blend
FS

All other Line skis are built pretty well. i.e. Supernaturals, Sick Days, Pollards skis. Not the most durable by any means, but they will go through a lot more than the others that Line makes.

i have a pair of traveling circuses and i beat the shit out of them constantyly they are are still going strong. like aforementioned, everything except masterminds are exceptional skis

I definitely wouldn't call the Afterbang an exceptional ski. I put the TC there because up until now, I ddnt hear one good review regarding durability.

I had the 11/12 line step up and the tail broke after like 2 month! Riding Armada since then and I'm pretty happy with them!

I had a pair of Line Anthems which I believe evolved into the Traveling Circus ski. I rode the heck out of them and finally broke the tail coming up short on a front flip over a twenty five foot table. I had no major problems aside from some top sheet chipping (to be expected from a cap construction ski) and the skis started to naturally rocker both tip and tail (most likely from butters). If I had to guess I rode them 50-70 times including some occasional urban. I did get some edge cracks but the edge never pulled out. I would recommend to a friend and wish I hadn't turned the good one into a shot ski LOL.

All freestyle skis use Fatty Base & Fatty edge .. which is thicker than standard materials and go thru the same on him and in the lab torture by our scientists and athletes and pas with flying colors. thanks for considering LINE!

all ski edges are going to fall out. that cant be prevented. if your edges do not fall out then you are doing it wrong. just as long as the skis do not break in half then they are good. i have rode line skis for many years and i have never had a problem with the durability of the skis. they are a fantastic ski company that knows what they are doing

I think masterminds are good skis for beginners who dont shred so hard.

Line isn't the most durable company but I love the feeling of all their skis. Although i've never snapped a pair on my chronics the sidewall began to fall out. Also the top sheet chips a lot more then some other skis but this doesn't effect how the skis feel at all. Line is a great company I don't know why they get the rep of being "cheap".

A have a pair of 2012 chronics and used them for a season. I found a giant hole in the base of the skis and I don't even know how it happened. Other than that the only other durability issue was minor tearing of the top sheet plastic. The skis still ski like they are brand new.

Evan.AI don't know why they get the rep of being "cheap".

They are made in china. Chineese skis and skis made in spain have not had a good track record for holding up.

I have over 400 days on a pair of elizabeths. Sure the cores are shot but they are plenty durable.

Don't buy afterbangs, I got some a few years ago and snapped the tail pretty quickly, i've never tried any of their other ski's but i'm sure they make some decent skis worth buying

I had chronics that got a ton of edge cracks and then ended up losing 8 inches of edge. My friend later snapped them when I let him borrow them for the day.

Really? Last I checked, K2 makes bombproof park and all mountain skis and they're all made in China...how about Volkl's park skis? All made in China...

Line skis are good durability but as others have said you get what you pay for.

Also I think these threads give a very skewed idea of what durability you will get from a ski.

You could make a thread with any ski brand like this, "How Durable are Armada/Nordica/Atomic/Salomon/etc" and you will always get a bunch of people coming and telling you their horror stories about how they got 18 edge cracks in a month or how their skis snapped in half etc, etc.

This is because people who are disappointed or unhappy with the product are much more likely to complain and spread their negative experiences, I don't know why, maybe it's because they feel the need to get back in a way at the company. People who are happy with the product generally tend to stay quite and just enjoy it and so they're much less likely to come and endorse something.

So because of this I think you should take what you see here with a grain of salt. The best way to decide on skis is to go demo them.

Volkl walls do not hold up. My buddy has delamed goats from volkl every year under foot. K2 is an exception with rivoting and thick ass edges. They are heavy as shit though.
