Skate bearing troubles

So I'm building a complete, and I made the stupid decision of buying the cheap mini logo bearings. I'm looking for a skate bearing in the 20-30 buck range with a 20-30 second spin time.

and are reds any good? they seem pretty cheap

Pop you rubber shields off. The fill a tupperware for a sandwhich up with rubbing alcahol. Take your barings put them in the tupperware put the lid on and shake them mother fuckers up. Pull the bearings out and let them dry. Get some triflow, air tool oil, or and oil that you know wont gum up and apply on the balls of the bearings. Pop the rubbers back on and you will be pretty surprises at how much your bearings have recovered.

Bonus points if you got axle spacers and speed rings should be a mando item

You don't need expensive bearings. The most expensive I'd buy is bones reds. The spin time doesn't matter as much as how it is that they spin. If they spin for only 10 seconds, but it's silent and seemingly friction free then you're ok. The The advantage reds have is the lack of inner shield. Other than that you'll need to buy ceramic to get a real difference.

If you're concerned, get a glass jar and soak them in acetone and jiggle them around to get any dirt out. then use bones speed cream to relube.

also use bearing spacers and speed rings. Then you can tighten your hardware and not squish the bearing.

really, try the speed rings and spacers.

Mini Logo and Bones Reds are both chinese manufactured bearings designed by the same crew (powell). You honestly won't notice a difference.

Don't buy expensive bearings. Anything that is dirt free and lubed is fine. Spin time doesn't matter and you won't notice when skating. Proper spacing does help. You'll notice that on lipslides, powerslides and anything where the wheel makes contact.

Yeahhhhh don't do this. It's way too thick compared to regular skate bearing lubricant so it'll slow the bearing down and collect dirt and other bad stuff.

I've almost only ever ridden mini logos. No problems at all. In fact, they have been the incredibly durable. Whatcha doin wrong?

Can't go wrong with reds, but ... I've skated my minilogos that I got for free for a year and they're still going strong. Nothing wrong with minilogos dude

I rode Reds for probably 15 years but switched to Hard Lucks this summer, doubt I'll buy Bones again. These are quieter, faster, generally roll better, and seem to lasted much longer.

Do not soak in WD -40 instead soak overnight in regular gasoline I'm not kidding it's the best solution it cleans all the dirt and shit out of your bearings
