I started trying to ski park last year, my jump game has always been weaksauce and my best trick is a 360 with the occasional 540. One thing is that for some reason, outside of the snow, I have always been able to front flip but never backflip. There used to be a mental block in my head, even in the pool I couldn't do the motion of a backflip for the longest time. Somebody told me something about backflips (which I don't remember) and some how the next time I tried doing the motion I was able to do it. I've always wanted to do front flips on snow, but I know that backflips are a lot easier. How can I go about bringing backflips to the snow? I haven't even tried it on the trampoline, because I'm scared after a bad experience about a year ago when I landed on my head and gave myself a crazy ass nosebleed.
Try doing backflips off of your back on a trampoline. It helps for some people and its super low commitment. You can work up from basically doing backwards rolls to doing it higher off the ground and then eventually from your feet. Don't try backies on snow yet if you are having commitment issues.
Oh! As what I see, you're experiencing trauma! Remember that the only thing to conquer a fear is to face it. So I guess it's up to you whether you'll gonna push it through or still hold on to your fear.
maybe try going to a gymnastics place, so you can have a coach spot you and make sure you make it around. If you have a woodward place near you, go to that although Ive never been casue I live in England. Could be good to learn some other tricks like corks lincolns and misties.
Do some into foam off the tramp, and then get them on lock on he tramp till it's like second nature, then take it to snow and do it off a really steep jump into some powder and u should be fine. And try not to land on ur head again haha
I have a question and dont want to start a new thread i dont think op will care.
Well i live in an apartment so i cant get a tramp and the closest place with tramps is like an 1hr 30 away. Has anyone ever tried doing a backflip on snow without ever doing one on a tramp or anywhere. I think i can commit if i don't think about the bad side to it.
THIS VIDEO HELPS.
Follow these steps exact and you can commit to this shit NO PROBLEM!
I used to be super scared of back flips! But, I watched this video and broke it down into small steps that weren't scary, and before you know it I committed with ease!
