Basically put, ONE nuclear missile could destroy 1 city and instantly kill X amount of people OR explode one 250 to 312 miles and knock out every single electrical component in America. Cars, TVs, hospitals, ANYTHING electronic. Our governments electrical components aren't hardened for this. So this would kill anyone with diabetes, anyone with medical issues that rely on medicine day to day to live, basically everyone who depends electricity.

No, I'm implying the people that would actually use it against the USA, or anyone else don't even have access to a nuclear reactor, much less any technology that would allow them to excecute an EMP attack on the USA, it's allies, or any other nation with a non-safeguarded electronic infrastructure.

Your example was a nuclear missile detonation over a city - these guys don't have access to nuclear weapons much less ICBMs of any size (less they somehow captured some scuds or something, but I kinda doubt that).
Find me an EMP device that these guys could have easily gained access to that they might have the means and knowledge of how to operate, and maybe then I'll worry... until then I'm very much not worried about any such EMP attack.

That was the point I was making. They don't have nukes. They can't steal one. They can't steal any other EMP devices that top militaries in Russia, China, Europe, and the USA may have... They definitely can't raid CalTech or the future for the EMP devices from the movies...
Basically their chances of setting off an EMP attack are about as likely as them attacking our imagination...

I've also been wondering why the population doesn't seem to be resisting. Thousands of people slaughtered without resistance, seems odd or we are missing those pieces of information.
Probably the same reason no one every really fought back against the Nazis while they were doing similar things.
No one wants to be the one to incite it because then you'll definitely be the first one dead, and you don't necessarily know that being cooperative will lead to your death. Not to mention that when you're unarmed and a group of well armed guys are yelling at you, you probably aren't thinking uprising.
I don't like the idea of putting soldiers on the ground over there for this. It's what they want, and it gives them a tangible enemy. Airstrikes are hard to comprehend as an enemy. You can't see the man shooting at you. You can't track him, ambush him, or plan against him. It absolutely destroys morale when bombs from unseen planes are decimating your group. Makes it even worse when you have no way of fighting back against them either.
I say launch another Rolling Thunder. Bomb them everywhere. Day after day, night after night.

Realize the culture in this part of the world...
They have never really seen or known democracy. They know what it's like to be ruled by a strongman. It wasn't until 50 years ago that they even knew what democracy or voting could possibly be, and they've yet to see it work out well because it's either rigged or everyone just votes for the guy with the most power anyway. The only stable countries in the area are monarchies or dictatorships. Democracies fail as soon as they go up. This is how things go the further east you go for the most part...
Aside from this, but dying in the name of god is a real thing there, and it's not like our european style "I SHALL NOT DIE IN VAIN" mentality that gets handed down from Norse Mythology of not going out like a bitch or else you end up in Hel, but more just faith that Allah will bring them everlasting peace as long as they accept him - similar to how christians believe that they will be 'saved' as long as they believe in Jesus.
Remember in American history, we already had 500 years of pseudo democracy engrained in our European based culture. When we beat Britain, we still wanted to crown George Washington because it was basically what we knew... it still took us 50 or so years after that event for us to finally figure out the basis of our democracy and start tying it together. Canada just kinda did whatever mother England did and that worked out for them too in the end.
So yes. in that light, the individual 'fight' that one might have there is far more diminished and controlled by those with power - and there's not much we can do about it until this whole Arab Spring thing finally takes shape - it's similar to what Europe was going through 100 years ago but with less structure. We gotta give them a bit of a break here.

It's nothing to laugh about. I've seen the news. I'm scared to even leave my house because I realize there's a good chance that the muslim guy living a town a way is almost guaranteed to try to blow me up and anything I touch will probably infect me with some crazy future disease that has yet to hit the news.

Sorry, you are in error. Just because the name ISIS wasn't around doesn't mean the same group didn't exist. They've actually changed their name many times but are the same group. And it's believed they've been active for around 10 years.

People underestimate ISIS I think that in all they are very dangerous, and just because nobody in our government wants to get off their asses and do something about it dosent mean that ISIS is magically going to go away. But Theres not much I can do so...
im assuming they are in the city as we speak, though I feel these articles that say "theyre right at the gates" are a bit misleading. I read a lot that they were at least an hour or two outside of the city, not right outside.

I know it's well known now, but it's still crazy to actually see how well organized ISIS is. They look much more disciplined than the Iraqi army and Peshmerga and whoever else they're fighting. They're advancing in textbook formations and the Iraqi Army I saw couldn't even patrol without dragging their rifles in the dirt. They're also pretty well armed and if it weren't for all the Western airstrikes the current situation would be a lot different.

This. Another group that is well organized, despite their affiliation with al-Qaeda, is al-Nusra Front. A lot of their members are former jihadists who fought in Iraq and now have taken their "talents" back to their homeland in Syria. Unlike ISIS, they put their ideologies about non-Sunni Muslims on the backburner and have only been targeting Assad and attempting to keep civilian deaths to the minimum.
ISIS may be well-funded and well-armed, but they are facing an coalition of enemies that will ultimately prevail.
