When you sell on paypal do you receive the money as a gift? Because if you do gifts or services you still have to wait

eBay owns Paypal. They aren't going to let buyer's pay sellers as a gift. That money is unrecoverable per Paypal policy and thus ruins the whole "Buyer Protection" eBay claims to provide.

The downfall with eBay is that the buyer can claim that they received an empty package thus receiving an automatic refund for their purchase. The seller can never successfully prove that the package wasn't sent empty. Never sell anything on eBay that you are not 100% okay with just giving away, as someone could easily rip you off without issue.

If you want your money faster, Paypal requires you to link a bank account and input personal information. By doing this, if you were to have a buyer accuse you of fraud, paypal can access your bank and withdraw money to refund the seller. If you don't have a bank account connected, paypal can only withdraw the money from within your paypal account.

I'm avoiding reopening my account. Actually tried but can't loggin and they can't help me because my email is unconfirmed even though "they want to help me".

I'm just gonna send a check or something to ns and carry on. Paypal would be helpful when I sell pins but I don't do that enough/haven't made any new ones in a while and can just do it in person at shows or get checks sent from people. I don't like having anything else connected to my bank account.

Yeah and that's the worst thing about it all, if I want to actually get tangable money I have to add my bank account to it. And it's just all sketchy. I already added my bank account but now they want proof of my address, my Ssn and something else. Until then I can't get my money

I sold a MacBook Air on Ebay last summer some time and had nothing but problems with Paypal. It was such a shitty experience that I will never buy or sell anything on Ebay ever again.

So now paypal decided to restrict my account 100% and I have 65$ in my balance they said the only thing I can do with my money is issue a refund even though I have already shipped out my item to the person that bought it. Basically they stole my money. Luckily the buyer was chill and is going to take the refund and send the payment to a different account. Paypal is such a scam I dont recommend it to anyone

PayPal pisses me off. I've only used it a couple of times in the past 10 years or so. I've tried using it a couple of times over the past year or two and apparently my account is restricted. They won't reopen it until I send them proof of my physical address and photo id. Nope. Not gonna happen.

Unfortunately, it means I often get screwed out of buying things from the States. For example, I went to buy a watch yesterday which was half the price in the US vs. Canada. Placed the order. Got an email today informing me international orders can only go through Paypal. Screw you.
