Glidecam balancing

I got a glidecam 2000 pro and having some troubles getting this thing perfectly balanced. I cna get it close but not perfect and i want it perfect haha

Any tips?

Sorry for misspelling. Im on mobile which really isnt much of excuse....


I have a single weight on each side and then my 60d and lense on top. I can give more details if needed.

Not sure what youre using for a camera, but for me, adding weight to my camera makes it way easier (i.e. a light, mic, etc.).

It's easier to balance with more weight because the rig isn't effected by smaller movements as much because of inertia.
I would add weight to the cheese plate on the top of the glidecam and add some more weights to the bottom. If you are running a very light camera setup it can be difficult to find a perfect balance. imo

Yeah, bolt on a couple stacks of washers onto the cheese plate at the top. the 2000 pro was meant for heavier cameras (even the 2000HD needs a pretty heavy setup to work well)

I have 60d with battery grip, videomic, rokinon 35, QR plate. The more weight I add the smoother it gets but it can also become a pain to haul around a heavy setup.

It is a pain to carry a heavy setup but your shots will be a lot smoother and the gildecam is easier to control.
and a dslr setup is light compared to most video setups.
