Backflips

I just got over my fear of backflips now I can do land them 10 out of 10 times on the tramp now I want to start laying them out then bringing them to snow any tips on layouts and backflips on snow

For the snow part : try them in powder or on an airbag first and remember : for backflips its usually better to overrotate than underrotate!

To lay it out, try arching your back but make sure you jump up first because doing this can lead to you traveling a lot backwards, and then slowly progress into tucking less and less and you should be laying them out in no time.

For taking it to snow, personally I just went straight to it in the park without airbag or powder with a lot of peer pressure to do it, looking back on it that was pretty foolish but I have taken every flip from tramp straight to snow and have brought it to feet most of the time so I guess that brought up my confidence, and the peer pressure made me do it ahaha

find some way to get the next step of progression. Do it into a foam pit, airbag, roller skis/ inlines foam pit. First, you approach the jump. When you are near the jump pull your arms back so you can set the rotation. you also want to wait until the tips your skis are coming off of the jump and then get a nice good pop. you set the rotation with your arms and try to push your hips up. Commit to the rotation and then spot your landing.

Would building a backflip booter help bc it would already set me pretty far back so all I would have to to is commit to it or would that be a bad idea bc park jumps aren't as steep

Only thing. Though, it would build your confidence to actually try them on a park booter.

For layouts, I had a hell of a time learning. First, you just dont tuck using your arms. Once you get comfortable with that, try to extend your legs as far as possible (note: if you have a net, make sure not to go across it as your feet will get stuck on the top) then keep looking and you're set.

Find somewhere in the snow landing in powder, steep landing is better, make sure the jump is atleast 3 foot high and you should easily get a backflip, its more just the fear of doing them

I did my first on a shitty jump built by some snowboarder. It had little pop and an unbelievably icy landing. Every jump can be the one you do your first backflip on

Not true at all I would rather under rotate any day than over rotate. Every time I under rotated I just bang my knees and fall over, when you over rotate you can whip your head sooo hard or mess up your back really bad

I think hes saying this as a mental thing. That way op will actually throw the backflip and not just a half flip.
