How far back are my bindings

I asked the guys at my local shop to center mount my Chronics. Upon giving me my mounted skis back, they told me that they hadn't center mount them as they are a non-symetrical ski and therefore shouldn't be. My question is how do I measure how far back they mounted? If they are 2cm back I'll keep them the way they are. +K for helpful replies

Line chronics have recommend mounting lines right? If they do see if the line is in the middle of your binding or if your arc of your foot is over the line.

That was my first idea but when you're calculating to the centimeter you need a more precise method

Turn one ski upside down and put the skis base to base. If your bindings are centred the heel will line up with the toe on the other ski. If yours are mounted back measure how much difference there is between te heel and toe.

Forgot to say the difference between te heel and toe is how far back from center your skis are mounted.

when i measured they came out 7.5cm apart which can't be right

You need to measure from the front part of the toe ie where the boot goes into the binding not the front of the binding and also the back of the heel a lot not the back of the heel piece. Maybe take a pic if you want and we can take a look

You know the length of your skis right?? then measure in between your bindings, find the middle of em, and if that isn't the middle of the length of your ski, then it isn't a true centre mount... there should be a line with recommended freestyle boot center on your lines, is that close to the middle? then if so it should be 0.5 or 1cm less than true centre mount. On chronics, unless you shred only park, like ONLY park i'd recommend using the recommended freestyle boot line.

Divide by 2 if you're comparing one forwards ski and one backwards.

Wouldn't it be easier to just pop a boot into the binding, mark your midsole on the ski with a marker, take the boot out and see where it is in relation to the scale on the ski (assuming there are mounting marks)? Again not overly accurate but I don't imagine your shop to have taken the time to measure out the true placement.
