eternal life

i may be way off and it might not make any sense, but if their is no 'afterlife', wouldnt life itself in a sense be eternal, obviously life does not last an eternity, but if there is not an afterlife then to the person living the life it would last an eternity (not 'eternity' in its literal meaning, couldnt think of a better word, but i hope u get the idea)because when they die everything would cease to exist, like humanity only lasts a lifetime.

i guess you didnt understand what i just wrote, i didnt say that life is to short. If u said life is all you will ever know, then i might agree, but i sort of beleive in an afterlife no matter how unlogical it is.

^apple no, hes saying that eternity is the entire time matter exists, so, when we die, all matter stops in existense to our self.

pretty much, its kind of depressing but i dont exactly beleive it, it was just a thought... i do for sure beleive in god, however im still a bit sketchy about an afterlife

jakeman your right about the idea that everything ceases to exist when we die, but i did not really mean that we are live for an 'eternity', i just couldnt think of a proper word, because an eternity has no end and no beggining

but its just our preception that stops. everyone else keeps going, but to us everything is over. what i understand you as saying is that when one of us dies, everything else stops existing... and that cant be right. My grandma died, and we all still exist.
