So back home on the east coast when I had to travel to West Virginia, snowshoe mountain, I had absolutely no service anywhere near the mountain. I would ski all day and not even think about who has tried to contact me.
Now that I am in Utah I have service pretty much everywhere and I don't really like having the thought of who might be trying to contact me while I am skiing.
Do you like having service on the mountain or would you rather not have it?

i personally like the solitude as in I don't pay any attention to my phone while I'm out. However, I have it with me and I'm glad that there is service. The last thing I want is to be hurt/have an emergency in a semi-isolated area and have no means of contacting anyone.

I would rather not have it honestly. I throw my phone on airplane mode when i ski and use it to listen to music (well I did until the headphones in my helmet broke, now it just sits in my pocket). Skiing is one of the only times where I can forget about that aspect of life (the tech obsession and high stress environments) and every other negative thing going on so I definitely don't want to ruin that with constant updates and calls and whatnot. Unplugging and just riding all day is a great feeling and it kind of sucks to see people still so plugged in when they have the greatest playground at their disposal.

I don't think about a single thing while I'm skiing except for the pure enjoyment of it. It was really nice not having service but it is nice in case something drastic happens for sure but airplane mode is going down this winter.
