What type of music for edits do you prefer?

A lot of edits have rap, others have more House like music. What type of music do you think goes best with edits? If it depends, what makes the difference?

Candide's - One Of Those Days does not have music but I've found Foo Fighters - Breakout works well over it. Have a few tracks you like and then experiment before, during and after production.

Electronic songs with good melodies and with feeling. None of that bigroom house Martin Garrix shit, and dubstep doesn't really work well over it in my opinion.

Was always rap until edits like We are the Faction Collective. Films like The way I see it, All I can and Into the Mind have good alternative music aswell. But edits with Wu and stuff are always banger.

Probably gonna get some hate for this, but I have to say that I prefer an interesting song of any genre over yet another edit with hip hop in it. The internet just seems saturated with rap edits. Not saying I don't like them at all, just saying I prefer when people are more original with their song choice.

For me, music is almost more important than any other factor in projecting the vibe of an edit. All different types of music are great for different people and different styles.

Personally, I just think that edit songs should be songs that you enjoy listening to, if you jam out to flocka, do that. If you're more of a Jim Morrison guy, do that. If you listen to cLOUDDEAD, put it in your edit- although people will probably not understand and downvote.

Depends. It has to match the vibe, the skier, the style.

I prefer flocka, wutang and trap with edits that are filled with afterbang and baggy shit.

I love edits of some stylish skiers dropping straight bangers with some skate edit music playing. (Mostly alternative or ATCQ for me)

Haven't seen many edits with electronic, or dubstep that i really like tho.

I personally feel like rap is used a bit too much and sometimes takes away from the actual skiing being done in the edit. Don't get me wrong some edits just flow great with rap but others don't so we'll. Depends on skier and what they're doing in the edit. But everyone has different opinions and some people like some music while others don't so it's really hit and miss with a community so big.

For me a banger segment needs a banger song. It can be electronic, rap or rock or so but it simply has to fit! That's why I don't like pow segments with reggae on it. Don't get me wrong, I'm not against reggae or something! I just think that it isn't the best joice if you want to make an edit that stays in our head...

Rap is great for park edits, but not Waka Flaka. That's not rap it's entertainment. He himself says he is an entertainer not a rapper. Try some Beast Coast or Curren$y.

Spacey mello music for powder and big mountain edits. M83, Jezzabelles, Washed out, stuff like that.

For me, the style of the song has to match the theme/style/mood of the shots. For example, an edit with a lot of slow motion shots, in my mind, should have a song with a slower feel that flows well. For some reason I think this is a great combination.

Kinda related: You know how some ski videos have original scores? Nimbus and tanner hall have done this at least.

I've always wanted to see a full length ski video edited to a awesome dj mix. Imagine a level 1/Pretty Lights colab. They're both Colorado, pretty lights gets custom jibberish shit made, it only makes sense.
