ADRIA-T.PIMPAnother one of those videos -- much is staged but who cares?
More interestingly... I suspect Candide has been doing this type of run for at least 15+ years (without staging.) This is not new to him.
Is there an equivalent snowboarder that can hit natural terrain like this - as effortlessly and as big?
The video reminds me of C'était un rendez-vous - basically a Mercedes driving through Paris in 1976 at break-neck speed (with better engine noises overdubbed later.) More info here - I mean if OOTD is gaining cult status, perhaps the minor artificiality is all worth it. It might even inspire park bandits to get out and hammer meat a bit more.
just to be Captain Obvious for a second:
- it could've easily been patched together from a couple of days of skiing the same run using the best takes
- at the end there is a sunset, unlike beginning
- I'm sure he told race officials, lift attendants, restaurant people what he was doing and how to react.. I mean he'd know everyone at that mountain. It's his home mountain, where he'd be a hero.
- obviously many of the jumps were setup for the filming (or for fun) including over the barrier 3:16 and restaurant: 4:42, 4:48. You can also see tracks after the chairlift station.
Thank you Captain Obvious.
