so guys i have like 200 bucks that i made over the summer and i need a camera mainly for video nothing crazy just a good starter camera i was thinking Sony DSCH300/B 20MP Digital Camera with 35X Optical Zoom
cheap, small, AWESOME zoom and 720 with 30fps sounds pretty good. what do you guys think
Everyone here will tell you that bridge cameras are shit. You could probably find a t2i with a kit lens for 200-250, but if you're only doing video then you may want to look at some dedicated camcorders such as the canon HF r400 or a handycam of some sort.
I had an earlier version of this. long story short, it has the worst of both in terms of features. Small sensor, limited controls, shitty codec/formats of a point and shoot, as big and heavy as a small dslr. They seem cool, they are great for non photagraphers on vacation, but you will outgrow it very quickly. If you don't want/need a full dslr, you can get most of the same features in a point and shoot the size of a deck of cards. Bridge cameras "bridge" a gap that should exist.
