TwinipzThe problem with the east coast is not the amount of snow we get, it's the melting.
Yeah, but it's also the terrain. We have so many big open alpine environments here in the rockies that the east only has in the presidential range of NH and the Chic Chocs (or however you spell it). The trees back east are tighter than a nun's cunt and every cliff I've hit (aside from the locations noted above) has an unforgiving landing. You can bitch about east coast/mid west problems until you are out of high school and after that I have absolutely no pity. Move your ass.
I cannot describe how happy I was, I woke up (it was my birthday) and walk outside around 8 am, and see the white covered timp again.. Best birthday ever
MartianManIf Utah gets under 400 inches, then you guys say its still not enough snow. Have some decency. The Wasatch gets fucking dumped on pretty much every year. Accept it. Here I am just north of New York City, and nothing would piss me off more than someone from Utah complaining about how much snow they get.
Regarding the farmers almanac, I'm stoked. It was right about and epic east coast season last year, so hopefully it is right again.
400 inches is not enough it may seem like it but some areas of the mountain just get fucked up by skiing on them, i want our 700+ inch seasons back
sat inside all day as it was 90 with ~90% humidity.
i'll give it a couple months before getting too angry. BUT SHIT ITS AUGUST and already snow? heard the birds have been migrating early from this nature lady so that means an early winter perhaps too
snow at 10k in aug is a way cooler anomoly

y2k maybe?
I was at Snowbird the day it snowed so I drove up to Alta to see the snow. These are some photos I took. Seeing snow in August is so weird. I took these photos around 12ish so the snow melted a good bit. There was definitely more snow before I took these.

Ducks and geese are not migrating yet. Maybe just starting to in northern canada and greenland areas but definitely not around here.
TwinipzThe problem with the east coast is not the amount of snow we get, it's the melting. Melting snow is probably the most depresing thing in the world...
One day, there was about 8 inches falling. Total white sky, I was so stoaked because we rarely get that much at once. Next morning, the sky is an ugly grey, everything is soaked, and grass is everywhere. A warm 45 degree day in the middle of winter.
That is the east coast
Yup, last winter starting out was really frustrating in VT because that happened a couple of times after some pretty significant dumps. After about the midway point of the season though things started coming around. Here's to hoping we don't get any more bullshit warming cycles this winter.
