Here in the eastern alps early snow usually means we're getting a pretty dry winter. I'd rather have no snow till December and then some heavy dumping than early snow without an actual pow season...
last_tangoI hope Utah gets snow this year. Utah did not get enough snow last year.
If Utah gets under 400 inches, then you guys say its still not enough snow. Have some decency. The Wasatch gets fucking dumped on pretty much every year. Accept it. Here I am just north of New York City, and nothing would piss me off more than someone from Utah complaining about how much snow they get.
Regarding the farmers almanac, I'm stoked. It was right about and epic east coast season last year, so hopefully it is right again.
Bum.LifeThe farmers almanac said that New England is gonna get DUMPED on this winter starting as early as october.
This might be the second winter in a row where I am rendered unable to ski because of a surgery :'( Enjoy regardless of the weather situation east coast peoples.
TwinipzUpstate New York probably won't have snow till the middle of December
Usually mid november to early dec it stays for the winter. Also usually some snow early nov or even mid to late oct. And mtns will be opening up the middle of nov like usual.
IF you're feeling sad go to an ice rink and snag some snow to shred.
The Pacific Ocean in california is seeing one of its warmest seasons in years... That helped to lead to the El Niño winters of the mid-late 80's and 90's Looks like Ca and Utah should have some pretty amazing years.
Fuck the east coast, stuck up bitches with no coordination who think because their finely primped faces are 8 out of 10 they have some seat at the table of respect. if you cant do a sport like skiing to save your life than ur inferior, no ifs ands or buts
I'm an east coast skier but I got the hell out for the summer. Also hoping all this shit I'm seeing on facebook is right about it being a great winter. Last year was good. There were a few shit ones before that.
My austrian flatmates were showing me pics and videos of this
Not sure if it would help us get more snow but it couldn't hurt. That or maybe sacrificing a goat or something
The problem with the east coast is not the amount of snow we get, it's the melting. Melting snow is probably the most depresing thing in the world...
One day, there was about 8 inches falling. Total white sky, I was so stoaked because we rarely get that much at once. Next morning, the sky is an ugly grey, everything is soaked, and grass is everywhere. A warm 45 degree day in the middle of winter.
That is why I moved from the East coast to Utah! This exact reason. The snow on the east coast sucks. It melts to fast, then it freezes, and there is your hellish ice for the entire season. Utah is one of the most amazing states there is. The outdoor stuff is next level and the skiing? The skiing is all time.

Utah is a compleatly different enviorment than the northeast. The wasatch is the cities water and if there isnt enough snow the city lacks water. Its not like new york where you have water naturally everywhere.
Brule.Montana also got some snow from what I heard.
Looking outside my window at lone peak at big sky and can comfirm that yes we got snow but just a dusting.

It's called the lake affect man and I don't think anyone is complaining over here.
