loganschnurAre you type 1 diabetic?
blazer258It's really not too much different than what you would expect. Just bring a few Clif bars or some snacks to eat throughout the day. It'll drop your blood sugar a decent amount because your muscles are working pretty hard. Just remember to keep up with it and if you feel a little low to eat something. Eat a solid breakfast too before and dont take as much insulin as you normally would. Not really sure what type of insulin your taking but if you take something for a long period of time like Lantus cut back a little on that for that day too.
KillaSeasonI am a type 1 diabetic. I just eat before i go up and keep some form of snack in my jacket if I need it. I luckily have never really had any serious diabetes related issues on hill
cool_nameno real advice, but my close friend has type 1 diabetes and shreds hard, so if you were worried about it limiting your skiing, you shouldn't. The only thing i can advise is if you dont already have a medical bracelet, get one before the season, because if you happen to seriously injure yourself on the hill you want the ski patrol to know about your diabetes because it can seriously mess with your levels (i imagine your doctor has explained this to you already, but thought i would post it just in case)
snowballsdeeppom has type 1, there is thread he started like this somewhere around here
