louie.miragsThere are so many festivals across the country why waste all of your money/parents money on burning man?
GrizzlyBurrIt wouldn't necessarily be a waste, but you could go to multiple festivals for that for sure.
wepresidentnowwilling to pay $1200 each.
wepresidentnowwanted: 3 burning man tickets willing to fly/drive 1500 miles. willing to pay $1200 each. get at me.
louie.miragsYou try out moe. yet? moe.down is next weekend, you still have time to learn enough songs to jam out ;)

Barefootin_Fiendwtf? people seriously pay this much for festival tickets? no fucking way.
wepresidentnowsome people very, very close to me are going and i would like to join them.
this is basically not going to happen there's about 100 people for every ticket available im hoping somebody wants to sell 3 all at once so i can swoop them up.
i realize there are other festivals but im really just not that interested.
louie.miragsWhat makes you so interested in burning man? Just friends going or?
JeremyClarksonpffft, good luck bud.
wepresidentnowgot a minute?
1) been working 50 hour weeks for this new job since november. my benevolent employer (praise be onto him) has graciously given me labor day off so i actually have 4 days off and want to do something cool before winter sets in
2) went to shambhala but got my car FUCKING DESTROYED by border patrol because i "seemed nervous". tore my care apart. literally tore. and guess what? DIDN'T FIND ANYTHING LIKE I FUCKING TOLD THEM. so now my car is a lumbering, clanky mess because all the plastic tabs to the interior trim are broken because they were convinced i had drugs. really put a wet blanket on my weekend there...it was just weird.
2a)don't go through the grand rapids, british columbia border crossing.
3)as posted above i have very close people going who i really like being around.

louie.miragsword man! I was just asking. I heard bad shit about that festy and facial recognition is that true? Fuck those border patrol cops that sucks
DrailFacial recognition at shambhala? Dude,
There isn't even a police presence at
Shambles. They don't care about drug use or distribution/possession of MOST drugs. If they catch you with G they will escort you to the gate and hand you over to the cops, but besides that...
What's the issue with facial recognition anyways? I don't see the problem. Unless you're wanted, your just a face in the crowd.

louie.miragsoh yeah i was hella wrong
DrailAll good. Shambhala is on private property and with the no booze rule there is next to none as far as violence and crime goes. Only issue is people od'ing and bad drugs. But with harm reduction programs, festival organized drug testing booth, and an area called the sanctuary with a full time staff of nurses, doctors, and a safe zone for people needing a quite space for a time out its pretty progressive in the festival scene. Those things combined and the cops let 'us' be for the event. In three years of me being there I've seen cops on site once, and they were there to bust a group of people that were going around robbing peoples tents.
They do like to set up road blocks on the highway outside the farm though and try to bust people with possession/intent to distribute charges during the weekend. Didn't hear of any road blocks this year though, so maybe they didn't even bother with that this time around.
DrailThey searched my car and found 1.3g of weed in the back of my car and I am now banned from America. So...
DrailShitty buzz. Burning man is an experience for sure, I recommend you go, but the odds of finding 3 tickets a few days before it starts is, well... It's most likely not going to happen. Just wait till next year and get on it sooner.
Also, do you mean grand forks crossing? Never crossed there myself, but border guards across the region are going to be suspect of any shambhala goers coming in, and while it sucks, it's kind of expected to a point. A few years ago I went down to the burn and we left almost two weeks early so when we crossed the border we told customs we were going on a road trip through the cascades and down the Cali coast so they didn't assume we were on our way to burning man.
Slightly related - 4 years ago I tried getting into the states (north port, wa crossing) with a bit of a hangover from drinking the night before. They searched my car and found 1.3g of weed in the back of my car and I am now banned from America. So... Could have been worse, at least you got through. I personally like shambhala way more than burning man, but the forest is my home and the desert was just a bit too harsh for this guy. Can't they just have the damn thing by some water at least? Geez. I think Portugal has a burning man style festival along a lake that seems really cool. I'm rambling now so I'll stop.
